Vin Scully is well into his 80's and the best voice on the air. I believe this is his final season.

McCarver wasn't too bad yesterday. He even said some things that I agreed with, which is quite refreshing coming from any national broadcaster.

McCarver explained during the game that the Tigers must get more productivity out of the #5 and #6 slots in the batting order ..otherwise they'll continue hoovering around .500 all year.

McCarver's comments are 100% True.

Not even close....

Everybody I know ( including myself at the top of the list) annoys me at times. McCarver is no exception. So, I take some of his inane comments with a grain of salt.

I have to admit I enjoyed the video bit where he detailed which direction in the outfield a batter looks after striking out. It brought an audible chuckle.

Okay, that was dumb!

Especially considering that all we saw were their heads in the shot.

Who cares where these guys look after they K? Oftentimes, they should be looking at the ground - especially when they've been completely fooled on the last pitch.

I thought is was amusing to hear McCarver talk to Evan Longoria about the injury to Bob Gibson in 1967. It would have been great to hear Longoria say something like, "Well, Tim, that was 18 years before I was even born, so I'm not sure what you want me to say about it. I can't really compare these two injuries since it was 45 FREAKING YEARS AGO!

At that point, it sounded like two different conversations, didn't it?

Longorias' comments about Cabrera were pretty cool. It tells you the kind of respect he has as a player around the league.
