Who's saying I know how good the player is going to be? I have no idea but the point is neither do you. And Den Dekker is not a highly touted prospect. You don't turn down signing a guy like Bourn because Matt Den Dekker is on the way.

He started out wanting a contract with a total value of more than what the Braves paid Upton. No team that could use a centerfielder has paid him that yet. As usual Boras has over valued his player. Bourn isn't worth 15M per.

Reyes got 6 yrs/ $106 which is avg of $17.66M/ yr.

How do you know if Reyes turned down Mets offer of $15M (or more)/yr for 5 yrs? For more $$$/ yrs from Marlins?

Nowhere did I say my mind was made up on him. Again, it's impossible to know either way. All I'm saying is I would not pass up on a player we KNOW is extremely valuable because of him. He hasn't done enough to inspire that kind of confidence. The guy isn't anywhere near a top prospect and - let's be honest - kinda tanked in his first crack at AAA.

One more time to make this clear - I am not saying he can't be a good major leaguer. I would absolutely not rule that out. But I also absolutely wouldn't make a bet on him. And by the way, you know we do have an ENTIRE outfield of spots he can claim considering the team still remains without one of major league caliber.

He kind of tanked in his first season at AA too. But came back in his second season to hit .360 with some good power numbers too. So let's see what he does at AAA this second time around. Although numbers will be off because of the PCL and home games in LV.
