Will be interesting if "middle relief" means "multiple-inning middle relief" or 1-inning....
We'll get an idea tomorrow

Wonder if Stroman was marked for middle relief before Perez went down?

He would really be a great addition to our bullpen right now, just having another guy who can 3 outs without giving up a run would be amazing.

I don't think the injury really changes our plan with Stroman, our 3 key relievers are still healthy.

Who are our "3 key relievers"?

Janssen, Oliver, and Frasor? Farrell uses them that way and they have been the 3 best, or close to it.

"Janssen, Oliver, and Frasor? Farrell uses them that way and they have been the 3 best, or close to it. "

that works great on paper, but if the starters don't make it to at least the 6th and occasionally the 7th, that's not enough and that's what has hurt them. those 3 cant pitch every day and no one else is shut down. not having Carlos to fill in the blanks has hurt them. not having Perez makes it worse.

Lol if those are your three best relievers you are in trouble.

Jays basically have one excellent Reliever Jansenn, one great role reliever in Oliver, and then one middle of the road reliever in Frasor

Going down the stretch you need 5 guys in the bullpen who are above average.

I guess we'll have to hope that Dyson can do a nice job and Cordero can get the home runs under control. Guys like Richmond and Chavez always come in and have a nice stretch when you least expect it, wouldn't surprise me if someone stepped up.

Dyson has potentiol, Cordero is not coming back from this, he is done. I would also bring up Carreno and let him be a reliever. Then have Richmond and Chavez as your long guys. THats the pen you go with if you dont acquire another reliever

IF AA can sign JC Romero, i woujld replace Chavez with hiim

someone wont be enough. lol they need a couple of guys to really step out. I know V has said he's in better shape this year, but being in better shape doesn't necessarily translate to a lot more innings pitched. I think he'll get dead arm if they abuse him again this year. Alvarez is most likely on a innings count as well. cecil has a few lucky starts, but hangs way too many pitches center cut to ever be effective.

they need at least 2 starters. that way V can go back to the pen and then one of the guys you think can step up can maybe help them get to the ninth.

hard to see them not having a really rough time without AA bringing in more arms.

could they be starting him in middle relief just to ease him into game play? he hasn't pitched for a while now.

He'll probably just be a short term reliever at the big league level.

But when will The Five Year Plan promote him? That's the real question.
