It sounds like Farrell is willing to look outside of Laffey too as well. This would be a step in the right direction as we usually just keep the starter performing poorly in the rotation during the start of years and it has burnt us. If they feel Jenkins or something can give us a better shot at winning out of the 5 slot, you make the move.

Agreed 100%. And I like that if he doesn't see results or improvements he looks for other options right away.

That's the rotation I'd be going with.

Have I missed something? Why does everyone love Jenkins all of a sudden?

He can hit 90 MPH and throws strikes, and he's ready.

If the Jays want to get into the playoffs this year -- and it seems that they do -- then they can't be dinking away starts on pitchers who aren't performing.

Id think Hutchison is ahead of Jenkins.
Whens the last time Jenkins even pitched in spring training?

Just go with Romero - Morrow - Alvarez - Drabek - Hutchison

This is going to be the rotation going forwards anyways

I'd go with that rotation now too. I wish nicolino was ready cause we need another LHP. Thats probably the only thing keeping Cecil in rotation talks is that he's a lefty

I'd like to see Carreno get strong consideration for the last rotation spot (Drabek is pretty much a given at this point). Carreno may not be the best pitcher in the system but he has the advantage of already being on the 40 man and he should be comfortable working out of the pen in weeks were the 5th starter isn't needed. Seems like the a good swing man to me.

Hey Gibby. Remember this?

"But I'll say this. Barring an injury, demotion or trade, Laffey will not be in the rotation over Cecil & McGowan."

That quote is just so Adam Lind-esque. Made me cringe.

Honest question?

Does Zach Stewart make the rotation over Cecil if we still have him?
