I thought he is in Philly because his wife wanted to move back, and she wasn't too pleased with the Yankee fans?

I think that was part of it, but I also think that he really liked playing in Philadelphia. I do not see why he gets so much negative attention from Yankee fans because he chose a different team. So what. If he wants to pay there then that is his choice. He never said anything bad about the Yanks their fans, his wife might have, but who really cares what his wife thinks.

"Keep on thinking that if it helps you sleep at night. So you are telling me that one of the best playoff pitchers over the last decade cannot handle pressure?"
.
You mean the guy with a 7.50 era and 6.94 era in his last 2 series pitched? With the latter being the World Series? He's you pick as one of the best pitcher in the playoffs the last decade?

Yes, I am saying that a man who has this line in the playoff's: 2.52 ERA, 7-3 win/loss, 82 IP with 10BB and 89 K's (more than one an inning), and a WHIP of, no this is not an error, 0.927 (YES I WROTE .927!). Sure his last three postseason starts have not been very good, actually they have been pretty bad, but that only makes the line I provided above more amazing.

Look at Pettittes postseason line, being that he is arguably one of the best PS pitchers in recent memory, maybe all-time, and you will see similar blimps on the radar: his 1999 postseason has very bad numbers even though he won 2 out of 3 games, his 2002 appearance against the Angels was a horror show, his time with Houston was all right to mediocre, and he has had other horrible postseasons throughout that time frame.

If you really do not think that Lee would make this team an infinitely better team than I suspect you are a very bitter person, or understand absolutely nothing about baseball.

I know this article is a bit old, and his PS stats have slipped a bit, but please try and argue against them (especially when looking at his overall PS stats and considering some very bad recent starts). I am a die hard Yanks fan, but if Lee was the current roster I would have him as the number one postseason starter (hard choice between pettitte and him) with pettitte next, and CC third.

Please scramble to do your best in proving why I am wrong. I suspect you will be scrambling for awhile.

And please remember that I have no soft spot in my heart for Mr. Lee, but to make such ignorant statements is, well, ignorant. No matter what his stats or win/loss this year is he is still a great (not just very good, not above average, but great) pitcher in MLB. I would love to have him in pinstripes.

Next thing you are going to say is that Mussina was a bad post season pitcher. While it is a common misconception, among those who do not pay attention of course, but not true in the least.

Just for facts, CC has not been any better then Lee when it comes to playoff stats.. check his out and stop worrying about Mr. Lee..

No, it is Cashmans fault. Had BC offered him a hundred billion trillion dollars he would have those 7 wins you spoke of. Plus, Alfredo Aceves would still be here with his 0-5 and 4.5 ERA. Fire BC.

Maybe if he wants a winning team he should like, win a game?? Start small, with one?

You are right, believe Nova had 7 wins with ERA over 5.00 this year.

Cliff Lee (in playoffs) > CC Sabathia (in playoffs)

Whoever is denying that is the biggest idiot ever.
