Maybe Phil shouldn't have been out there at 7:00 this morning. Looks like the way he was hitting his driver he should have been on the driving range a little while longer today.

Golf is for sissies. I much prefer a full contact sport like playing the clarinet. . .

Playing the clarinet? Bah! Needlepoint, that's where it's at... full contact with sharp objects, fun for ages 3 and up.

I used to be a pretty good golfer. In fact......at one time........I was a dam good golfer.

But now.......at my age and health..........when I play it kind of resembles a full contact sport.

And when I am finished playing...........it feels like I have just played a full contact sport. For about a week.

At one time I played golf well too. To me well is when you do not think a bogey is an awful thing and birdies are real thrill.

Years ago we would play from sunup to sundown. Now 18 would take me all morning and wear me out.

I see people that play it a lot and seldom get the ball in the air, that would not be enjoyable to me.

It is a rush sticking a high iron shot within a few feet of the pin from a 150 yards. I may be able to do that from 15 yards now.

"It is a rush sticking a high iron shot within a few feet of the pin from a 150 yards"

Last year I actually knocked one in from 150 yards out, but after I seen it land on the green and start rolling toward the hole I started putting my club away. Then I hear my partner hollar "it went in", I'm like what, no way. So I missed it going in but it was good all the same.

Lesson learned though, if it's looking close don't turn away...

I never had a hole in one. I hit the pin a few times and the stupid ball glanced off the pin far enough to where I missed the putt.

Okay, after watching the sudden death playoff of The Masters I must admit that I was wrong. Golf is not for sissies. Golf is for people with incredible skill and nerves of steel. I think I said "There is no way that he hit that shot" fifty times after Bubba Watson whacked the ball out of
the Georgia pines and it curved over the bunker in mid air and on to the green. My apologies
as well to Palmer, Player and Nicklaus (as I'm sure they read this message board). . .

One of the best pressure golf shots that I have ever seen. The whole day was kind of an amazing series of events.

Bubba earned that win. And when he hit that shot you could just see the wind go out of Louis' sails.

You gotta feel good when you see a guy like Bubba win the Masters.

Somewhat like I think it would be to see the Royals win the World Series again.
