there's some info for those who want to know. it must have been in his lungs.

It said its something thats in the dirt in the south or south or central america. I remember some team in spring training being worried that one of their players had valley fever, which is this. If you catch it right away it seems like its very treatable unless you have a weakened system or it gets in your lungs before you realize what happened.

Really sad. His son should be the one to bury him when it's his time. Praying Bob will get through this.

I recall when Dave Nillson had Ross River Fever back in his playing days and it ruined a season for him. These respiratory afflictions seem to be incredibly aggressive. My heart goes out to Bob.
