Welcome back, YBC, I'm glad Saunders has finally won you over, I guess we won't be calling him "Fatty" from here on out?

Skaggs is fine....he gave up a couple of homers.

He has a k/9 over 13, and k/bb ratio over 6. If that is step backwards....sign me up for backwards movement all day long.

Nothing has proved you right.

In the 365 days before he was traded, Dan Haren made 35 starts, threw 230 IP, and had a 4.73 ERA and gave up 38 homers and had a .282 BA against.

That hurt his trade value. While he's pitched better since then, the fact is he's not been a true "ace". He's been a strong number 2, which is always what he was and will be for as long as he's healthy.

The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced that we wouldn't make it to the WS either had we had Haren instead of Saunders because the pattern with Haren is that his second half of the season is never as stellar as his first half. Hey, come to think of it, one could argue that had we had Haren last year we probably wouldn't have won the NL West.

The other thing about those two that makes Saunders a better choice for us is: Haren doesn't love Arizona while Saunders does.

YBC, you kept overlooking one significant factor, Haren "wanted" to be traded, so, the FO did the best they possibly could at that point.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Corbin will prove you wrong on Monday, and then, maybe you and Shoe can stop beating this dead horse to death over and over.

Where had you been that year? Don't you remember Sutton kind of insinuated at first and later literally spelled it out that Haren wanted out of Arizona?

Actually, Sutton was talking about Haren at the time. But, you know what? Once you started to use the *** word, I know it's time for me to butt out. You and Shoe, please continue to beat this dead horse to death...
