It didn't matter what Scioscia said. If you look at Abreu now its obvious that Abreu thought that the minute the Angels signed Pujols that it would be his ABs that would be taken away, and he did absolutely nothing to make anyone think he deserved even the ABs he received, let alone 400. Abreu looks like a quitter to me.

Therein lies the problem, I have a feeling that the decision of what to do with Wells ultimately lies with Arte. About the only thing that Scioscia can do is play him, and if (when?) his play isn't better than the players he is being played over, all Scioscia can say is "see, what do you want me to do with him?" and let Moreno make the decision of what to do with him.

I doubt Scioscia is going to bench Wells for more than a game or two at a time without having permission to do so. It won't stop people from basing an unjustified opinion about it though, some already have their opinion and it hasn't even happened yet.

Trumbo has been on fire since he plays RF everyday. I hate to see that change.

Put him in LF everyday if Hunter is going to play RF daily.

Wells has been displaced on this team and should be the 4th outfielder or move him of release him.
I think we are a better team with Bourjos/Calhoun on the roster. If Wells stays those two my be gone.

No way does Wells start now. Trout and Trumbo have to be in there everyday from now on. IMO Trumbo is best on the right side of the field defensively. I like him at 1B and in RF with some DH AB's.

Wells has value as a platoon outfielder boy he's the most expensive 22 million dollar a year part time player in baseball but that is what he should be when he comes back.

He has value but its nothing close to what his contract is. But yeah they are not just going to release the guy for nothing as some people want the angels to do its better to get something out of him as a platoon outfielder than nothing.

Because it makes their point when a larger sample doesn't, I see it all the time. The Angels (and other) announcers do it all the time, so and so is 8 for his last 17 ABs. Going with 20, or 10, or 100 doesn't "paint the picture" the way they want it to.

I don't have a problem with that. I just don't want him starting ahead of Trout, Trumbo ever or even Bourjos. Wells had his opportunities, his best days are behind him, and these young guys are really fun to watch and their good too and the team is winning.

Wells is a legacy left for us by Reagins and Scioscia.

We all know this by Scioscia's Modus Operandi (MO). This is Scioscia's mindset. Wells will be here for two more years (2014) and his being here brings big roster problems.

He does what he does, and he has been the same through 3 GM regimes.

I predict that Dipo will dispose of Wells, because he knows what most of us know.
MS will be playing him if he can.

That would be best for the team. Very clear he's lost his starting job in LF.

I have no idea if he could adjust to being a pinch hitter. That's the only role left for him on this team.
