Might as well just call up Iglesias...even if he can't hit yet, he'd still be better than Punto

Can't expect much from Nava, Byrd and Punto.

That's what I was thinking too. It was like, "well, we know he'll be retired, but can he at least put it in play?" I guess not.

Nava I can live with, Byrd, Shoppach (who got a hit), and Punto I can't.

I don't like the NL. You get stuck with these scrubs at the end of the game and watch the pitcher flail at pitches during the game.

I guess Papelbon will now talk about how much more knowledgeable the Phillies' fans are for believing that the Ump didn't screw the first base call up. ;-)

Sounds like a good plan, Sammy. I guess we were getting too close to .500, so we had to take another dip. How about starting a long, long winning streak tomorrow?

Papelbon would have got rocked if he was facing any other part of the lineup, and almost did if not for a bad call.

He's like the guy in slowpitch softball that does the swinging bunt on accident.

We were pretty close to home plate and that looked nasty. You guys probably had a better view of it due to cameras. Where did Salty get hit? He looked like he had been crying when he came back to the dugout. : (

"Batting Punto for a pitcher isn't much of an upgrade."

LOL! That's what I said to my husband when I saw he was in... Punto will have to wear 6" heels just to SEE the Mendoza line.

Wonder where you be sitting on Sunday afternoon, I believe Sunday's game is on TBS-TV and Mister John Smoltz or Dennis Eckersley might be with Ernie Johnson in Philly at 1:35pm ET.
