    • Goodbye Sutton?

"D-backs senior vice president of communications Josh Rawitch declined to say whether Sutton had been suspended. Rawitch did, however, take issue with the notion that the reason for Sutton's absence was because of a refusal to wear a D-backs logo polo shirt.

"That's just totally ludicrous and untrue," Rawitch said."

I wouldn't expect him or Hall to say anything different. The dress code issue is what has been reported on ESPN (not necessarily a reliable source) and confirmed thru numerous sources by Nick Piecoro ( a reliable source). I think that is the major issue, but there may be other side issues that have added to the Dbacks need to suspend Daron. Perhaps the Dbacks haven't told him yet if they plan to pick up his option for next season and he asked for permission for his agent to talk to the Dodgers or maybe he wants a new, reworked contract extension, which may have po'd the Dbacks. That might account for the when or if he will be back. If a player refuses to sign a contract extension the team can't suspend the player. That's probably not the case for an employee like Sutton (non-union). If Daron is looking for a reworked contract extension, you can bet he doesn't want a dress code like the Dbacks have now.

I just listened to the Daron Sutton interview with Doug & Wolf on June 8, 2012. He did make some comments about what Ken Kendricks said, about Drew.

Also, Gracie and Sutton did wear Polo's during some of the games but they had the Fox logo, no complaining there. But, now they want him to wear a Polo with the D'back's logo and now he has a problem with it.

Did all of you know that during the 2011 Home Run Derby, Daron wore a BREWER'S JERSEY!!!!!!

D'backs announcer wearing a Brewer's Jersey during the homerun derby at Chase Field, home of the D'backs!!!! WOW ! Not to smart! Where was the "SUIT"? If he wants to dress professionally.

So, I think this has been brewing for a long, long time!

All this talk about a polo shirt vs. a suit! All this griping that a guy shouldn't be dismissed because of his problem with the required attire! Like every one of you, I don't have any inside information. I have no doubt that there are some grains of truth about this matter as well as a wealth of falsehoods. We will probably find out the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth somewhere down the road. However, one thing I would not hesitate to guarantee you, even with my limited knowledge of what actually gave rise to this mess, and it's based on common sense, not inside information. Daron Sutton was not suspended solely because he disagreed with the dress policy. There's much more to it than that and it's related to an accumulation of things over a protracted period of time, not a single incident. Therefore, it seems silly to me to hear all these arguments about whether or not a guy should be suspended because he doesn't like the dress code. Trust me, it's a lot more than that. I am confident that time will prove me correct on that.

I totally agree with you 100%. We will probably never know and that's ok with me. It's his life and the D'backs business. I am so that whatever went on the D'backs consulted their attorney's before making the decision. Everyone is feeling sorry for him, I'm not. I wish I was making the kind of money that he is making. He certainly isn't down and out, that's for sure!!!!!

"Did all of you know that during the 2011 Home Run Derby, Daron wore a BREWER'S JERSEY!!!!!!"

Did it occur to you that MLB and the television network control every aspect of the ASG.

Almost every game I've ever seen with Daron and Grace wearing polos, they had the Dback logo on them.

Drew responded in an interview later in the week: “I understand Ken’s frustration,” Drew told MLB.com. “I was just disappointed that he questioned my integrity.”

During the radio interview with Doug & Wolf, Sutton stated he felt Drew was justified in feeling disappointed, and that calling out a player whose leg had to be turned around to face the right way is a “very, very dangerous area to go into.”

He added, “The only people who can probably get away with it are the guys who write the checks.”

Is there a link about Daron wearing the Brewers Jersey? Or are we suppose to just assume he wore it to slap the Dbacks in the face. Apparently, it wasn't very news worthy cuz I can't find it anywhere except some random guy mentioning it under some article or blog.

I did However, find a link that after Ryan Roberts hit a Grand Slam Daron yells, "ARE YOU WATCHING MILWAUKEE?" Good times!

Regarding Gibby's not looking reporters in the eye, I have seen him start to crack up a couple of times when he looked up at Jody when answering her question.

You are correct. I tried to make the point that no one would be getting "the answers they deserve" because this is a personnel matter. But that hasn't stopped another hundred or two posts from people demanding their "right" to know, and I doubt your excellent post will keep the next hundred "I have a right to know!" posts from coming.

Thanks for trying.

What can I say? All that's left for me to do is read the next few hundred demands from people to get their "right" to the gory details that, alas, will never come.

Can I count on you for 20 more demands?
