Enough with Reyes. Let him dance his way into the Everglades and get lost.

"Reyes caught stealing twice already?! Wow. "

And not to pile on, but one of those came at third base with 2 outs. A big no no.

here is a joke.... its only 8 or 9 games, but here it goes

Tejada - .912 OPS, 7 runs created (8 games) 450k a year

Reyes - .660 OPS, 5 runs created (9 games) 10 million this year, average 16 million next 6.

now that is funny.

"here is a joke.... its only 8 or 9 games, but here it goes"

So 8 games is about $22,000 for Tejada, $800,000 For Reyes

end of the season, do you think Reyes will have created more than 10 times the runs than Tejada did? If your answer is 'no' you are in on the joke too. Over the next 6 seasons do you think Reyes will created more than 32 times the Runs Tejada will? If the answer is no, well then you just became one of the 'teams' that thought it wasnt worth signing Reyes, and must know nothing about baseball too.

Reyes isn't a Met anymore so I'm not concerned with him. All I care about is Tejada and how he does.

Hope you feel the same way when Jose is playing baseball the next few Octobers and Ruben is playing golf, or dominoes or whatever.

Because Jose is some sort of lock for playing October baseball?

and because Reyes was the key for so many Met octobers the last 5 years... More than likely Tejada has as many if not more postseasons in a Met uniform than Reyes.

Maybe if we keep him for the next 6 or 7 years...this team is probably at least 5 years away from the playoffs,

"key info: " its only 8 or 9 games""

Well we can't predict the future, so that's what we have to work with.

It's funny when I first posted this thread the amount of games was the key info as well, yet the gap between them has actually widened.

Go root for the Marlins then. Enjoy last place. That's where that mess is heading.

That team reminds me of Philadelphia's "Dream Team" Eagles of last year. Bring in a lot of high priced talent and ego's and just watch them trip all over themselves.

"end of the season, do you think Reyes will have created more than 10 times the runs than Tejada did?"

No, but that's really not a fair comparison, either. Tejada is under team control.

" If your answer is 'no' you are in on the joke too. Over the next 6 seasons do you think Reyes will created more than 32 times the Runs Tejada will?"

If it were that simple, then the team with the most cost-effective run production would win the world series all the time. That doesn't really happen though, do it?

"well then you just became one of the 'teams' that thought it wasnt worth signing Reyes, and must know nothing about baseball too. "

If you think that cost efficiency is the only factor in building a winner, I'd have to say that you, yourself no nothing about baseball.

But I knwo you DON'T think that's the case. I've seen you post, you're usually a smart poster. So don't make this STUPID false equivalency. It's an intellectually dishonest argument, and beneath you.

Another faux argument. Maybe I was wrong about you....

"Well we can't predict the future, so that's what we have to work with."

When the sample is that small, we don't have ANYTHING to work with...
