Really wouldn't be stunned if any of that were true..... Ol Boch has to be tickled pink that he's now working for a fellow buffoon who shares his "an unproven rookie couldn't possibly be a better option that somebody who's had some success in the past" philosophy....

"Especially considering that this is a kid who's done everything that's been asked of him and never complained about it.

How in the world would you know that " the kids done everything asked" and everybody complains just not near cameras and mikes if they're smart.

It just strikes me as a bit Perez Hilton-ish in my humble opinion."

Of all the ludicrous, stupid and hysterical threads on this site regarding all manner of abject nonsense this wouldn't be a thread in the top 50 of Hilton-ish, IMHO and whatever that means.

" But who knows, maybe maybenextyear is an amazing judge of character who can read the guy in one short video clip of him working on his swing."

Try, I know it's hard but really try not to make everything a personal attack on fellow posters. It gets so idioticallt dull and ruins almost every thread and I surely don't mean just by you.

If you don't like the content. Don't read it.

I simply suggest another possibility to explain Belt's disappearance from the lineup based on granted somewhat thin evidence but, there is some reason to question the possibility.

"How in the world would you know that " the kids done everything asked" and everybody complains just not near cameras and mikes if they're smart."

Well let's see...they asked him to go play in the Dominican. It was written that he was hesitant, he was physically exhausted from playing his first full 2 seasons of pro ball but he said if the organization wanted him to go he'd go and try to make the adjustments that they asked him and that's exactly what he did. Bums just posted an article that lays out how they completely overhauled his swing which he welcomed with open arms. While he was getting shuttled back and forth from Fresno he didn't complain once. I mean, it's funny that you'd ask "how in the world would you know that..." in the middle of a thread that you created speculating about his attitude based on a short video clip of hitting instruction. Please tell me you see the irony in that.

A) How is anything I said a personal attack? Try, I know it's hard but really try not to interpret everything as a personal attack just because someone doesn't agree with you.

B) How exactly do you know if you don't like the content UNTIL you read it? Let's be honest, what it really sounds like you're really saying is that I shouldn't respond unless I agree with the content.

One thing that gets forgotten about Belt's swing/stance/etc is that the Giants basically created it themselves.

He was a college player with some mechanical issues but a scout saw the power potential. The Giants built his setup from the ground up. They moved his feet and hands and invented Belt. I don't think it'd be a stretch to say they know what needs to be done more than Belt does.

Totally agree chef. Bummer_ posted a good article about it above and it would suggest that the organization is acutely aware of the ins and outs of his swing.

I'm just saying that if anything, the complete overhaul to his swing, at the hands of the organization, would suggest to me that he's doing what the organization asks of him, contrary to the premise of this thread suggesting that he's not open to instruction.

Totes.

He's obviously put in the work to do what they want and he's reaped the benefits of the changes as he killed in the minors.

I just think it's gotta be tough for him. They showed him what to do it got him to the bigs and now they want re-adjust. He's probably like, "I thought you said this would work?"

You may need to reread yourself in a day or 2 with an attempt to understand the personal attack.

And if you still don't understand it I suggest you find someone who can explain it to you.

As to agreeing with me, well CenC, I started this thread knowing it would be controversial.
It's one of the reasons I started it.

Baseball disagreements can be interesting and informative if they keep a foot in reality but when anything gets personal it's devolves into pointless nonsense unless it's harassing trolls.

And now I am done with you for today on this thread.

"As to agreeing with me, well CenC, I started this thread knowing it would be controversial.

And yet you get sensitive when someone disagrees? Hmm.

It's also interesting how the people that throw out the personal attack accusations when someone doesn't agree with them never seem to want to point out what the personal attack was. It's always "Well, if you don't see it I'm not going to waste my time..." or "I'll let your reread your post and figure it out..."

Again, never called names, never claimed someone was an idiot for stating their opinion. It's easy to accuse people of personal attacks. Apparently it's tougher to quote them and back up the accusations though.

And again, to back up my point...I'd argue that considering that the guy completely overhauled his swing at the request of the organization, that may be evidence that he's open to hitting instruction. But what do I know? I didn't see the Zapruder film.

That's what this thread is about?!

That's the bad attitude?

I'm not sure...was it Belt listening to Will and nodding his head? Was it Belt giving Clark pounds after a round of BP in the cage? Or was it Belt ending a day of infield practice by saying "Thanks Will...Will the Thrill"?

I think that some people forget that while we'd be wide eyed and hanging on every one of Will Clark's words, for one of these guys on the roster it's just another day at the office putting in work for the real games to come.

I think I'll take the swing overhaul, the winter league in the Dominican and the adjustments that Belt made as evidence of his attitude over that video that didn't seem to show any kind of bad attitude at all.

It's safe to say that there's just a tad bit of reaching going on around here.

i don't buy this whole bad attitude thing.

he's pressing because he knows he has a short leash. if the giants said flat out, "you're our 1b, go play" he would be fine. instead he knows he's going to get yoyo'd from being a starter to riding the pine so it's causing mental hiccups that are messing with his swing.

just give the kid a real shot for christ sakes.
