How the heck you get banned ? Oh well, I got banned in 2003 two times..

But I don't blame the mods for banning me those times, I acted like a deouch, but YOU Phannie ? does not make any sense.
scratch that .. 2003 and then 2005..

Yeah, I finally read when Cwhoswims bumped it...

I guess HE went Eric Cartman on him.

twib -

I didn't read back very far so I don't know if you mentioned this already, but where do you send your stuff? I have lots of photos and magazines and baseball cards I've been saving for a while to send out one of these days of all kinds of players, take a chance. Another teacher at the school I teach at does it with celebrities, not too many sports figures, and has decent luck. Do you pay for address lists online or are a lot of those sites hoaxes? Thanks.

see i think south park is to blame for that... i wasn't saying it like "kyle.. you're a ju..." i was saying he is a jewish person from new york. Most jewish people from new york are yankee fans... i don't know how or when j-e-w became a derogatory term, but if it IS, what in the world are you supposed to call jewish people?

What surprises me is that somewhere in my 30000+ posts I haven't said anything that got me banned. I surely have said something that was ridiculously offensive to someone.

and no, someone's religion is not a deorgatory term.

I usually send stuff to the a player c/o the team address unless it is someone retired and I can find a reliable address.

I didn't send any this season except for the one SI print to Buehrle c/o the Sox. Phantom had good success with some Twins which is how this discussion started.

Now that the season is done, I do not plan on sending any to the players since the odds of them actually getting the letters are probably low. I'll wait until next season to send anything out to current players.

One place to get addresses is at the message board on Neshek's site for TTM. Just look at the TTM successes thread. If you see a success for someone you're interested in, then check out the addresses thread. People on there have access to addresses on other sites and will post them, but I usually only use the ones posted that I've seen people have success with, unless it is someone I really want and will take the chance on never getting back my item.

As with anything TTM, never send anything that you aren't willing to never see again.
Also, always include a SASE for return.

Hey Twibs...getting ready for next year?

The snows a bit early...longing for spring already.

I'm not looking forward to paying off next year's tix. ;)

I'm partially glad I'm not going to any more postseason games. All these late games every night usually makes me sick. I got close to being sick this year but survived.

The break this week has been fine. I'm sure I'll be longing for baseball before too long.

I am looking at season tix for next year...but more like a 20 game package. I'll probably end up gong to another 8-10 games even with the season tix.

I am very interested in the off season transactions...can they resign Pavano, Cabrera, Crede (if he's healthy) and Mahay. If not who will they pick up to replace them.

The biggest signing will be Mauer's extension. The sooner the better...everything else should fall into place after that.

Sending it to the team is the best idea, unless its someone like Neshek where he has his own site and tells you where to send it.

I sent all of mine out in september and I had SOME success, but not as much as I would have liked. i guess its possible I still receive some stuff in the summer, but i am not expecting a lot. I sent some long shots and I sent some that I 'knew' would come back like Neshek. I sent ALL of the c/o the stadium's address except neshek... I think I sent out

Neshek
Nathan
Morneau
Mauer
Duensing
Span
Liriano
Ryan Zimmerman
Jim Thome (actually has a reputation of signging but being slow)
Johan Santana
Justin Verlander
Lastings Milledge
Alfonso Soriano
Evan Longoria (dont know his reputation, I dont care too much about him so I wouldnt be offended not getting that card back...)
Matt Wieters
Josh Hamilton
JJ hardy

And a few others that I cant remember off the top of my head. I took some gambles on some stars that i didnt expect, but there are plenty of people on that list that are not by any means 'stars' yet.

So far I've gotten back

Neshek
Nathan
Duensing

and that's it. Neshek and Nathan came back in a week or so, Duensing took about 12 days. Like I said, i think part of it is the timing, i just sent them out so late in the year. I am going to get some cards together and get the spring training addresses and try to send some cards out that way next year.

Who in their right mind build a Jiffy Pop shaped balloon filled with helium that will float up to 8,000 feet in the air?

Then they leave it unattended for their 6-year old to climb in and float away?

Going on live right now.

Balloon just landed. No one is inside. If the boy was truly in it, it does not bode well for his survival.
