Was just a dig at Zitocain.But actually,its not that far a stretch.Jackie came along in 1947,Willie 4 years later.Now what if it wasn`t Jackie,and the first black came along and failed?....It could have been 10-20 years before the color line was broke.Heck,it was what,1959 before the Red Sox had their first black player,Pumpsie Green?..So yeah,if not for Jackie,Willie just might have been another Buck o`Neil or Josh Gibson.
So really,"luck" didn`t really have as much to do with it as the vision of Dodger Exec Branch Rickey,and the greatness of Dodger Jackie Robinson.
