Scarlett was just a small part of the movie, it was all Bill Murray for me. It's one of those small films that you either like or don't. I liked it, you didn't.

I waited for 2 hours for something to happen, and nothing ever did.

It's not a blockbuster, action movie where there is one ridiculous CGI explosion after another. It was a simple story about two lonely people... simple, but well done. It's not your cuppa, but I like a lot of movies like that.

Have you ever seen "Garden State"? It was a very small, slow movie. Probably one of my favourites from the year it came out.

I wasn't there expecting to see action adventure, and I really don't care much for most of those movies....ie. 'The Avengers' s*cked.

I expect Bill Murray to be funny and he decided to make a movie with no humor. Kind of like Woody Allen, who also used to be hilarious and quit being funny.

I never saw Garden State.

Bill Murray is a much better actor than Woody Allen ever was. His Carl Spackler days are way behind him now.

I understand he probably wanted to branch out as an actor, but he should have stuck with what he was good at. There are a gazillion serious actors but comedy takes a different kind of talent and not everybody can do it well. He was an expert.

It's like if Barry Bonds at the height of his HR hitting prowess, all of a sudden wanted to be a slap hitter.

A lot of these guys want to do something "straight" once in a while; you know that Bill Murray was nominated for Best Actor for that roll, right? Jim Carrey has done a few movies where he was pretty good in non-comedy roles; however, Adam Sandler needs to stick to his stupid comedies (which are awful, too).

Plus, Barry Bonds could bunt when needed/if required.

I was aware of the nomination, yes. Did he deserve it? No, not in my opinion.

Jim Carey is a much better serious actor. I actually think he's a little too far over the top when he does comedy. Not my favorite style.

pffffftt Adam Sandler is sh*t. I think Opera Man on SNL was the last thing he ever did that I liked.

I actually thought he was robbed that year, but Sean Penn was pretty good in "Mystic River". Bill was much better than the other three nominees (Johnny Depp in the first "Pirates" movie? C'mon.).

I'm not at all a fan of Johnny Depp.

Oh, I think he's a great actor (just not much of a human being). He has done a lot of interesting roles. Even the Captain Jack Sparrow was creative, they have just run it into the ground now (I blame that on the Disney War Machine).

He's a great actor, but I'm not much of a fan of his choice in movies. Everything he's in is quirky and that's not my favorite movie to see.

Well, that is one major thing that we disagree on in filmlandia; those are my favourite types of movies.

Has it occurred to you, maybe it's because you're quirky? ; )

12 Angry Men
Easy Rider (cult 60's classic)
It's Beautiful Life
Citizen Kane
Sling Blade
Dr Strangelove
American History X
American Beauty
Lawrence of Arabia
Once Upon a Time in America
Cool Hand Luke

"Gentlemen, you can't fight in here, this is The War Room!"

Dr Strangelove still makes me laugh like the first time I saw it.
