<this is true as well.....the guy went through a lot...and people just trashed the hell out of the guy..wanted a 22-23 year old who had hit .330 to be sent to the minors or DFA'd...ridiculous....

I want huff gone, i dislike him for his lack off effort going into and during last year...but not for his anxiety and issues he's developed since the beginning of the year with whatever he has going on..good luck to him on that front...hopefully he gets it all worked out for the best..

Seriously (re: Sandoval). And, for the record, I have been one of the most vocal critics of Huff this year. I don't want him gone, necessarily, but I definitely don't think that his salary should dictate whether or not he plays.

Exactly this!!!! This is the time that baseball doesn't matter. I'm actually a lot different than many on this board. I absolutely love Huff. It bummed me out when he wasn't playing well but I still like him. So sad that he has to deal with this in such a public way.

And you are right, some of those who have never experienced depression, anxiety, etc. can not even begin to understand just how difficult it can be.

My girlfriend is diagnosed with clinical anxiety stemming from some bad past relationships. She goes to her meetings and counseling. When anxiety moments do occur it's very important that I support her, but to not react strongly in any way. I have to maintain form at all times and stay very calm. Reason being because if I act worried it only drives the anxiety event even deeper, and if I act rudely, or wrongly, and not be supportive, well that is just mean and probably harmful to her.

Though I am on the Huff needs to not play wagon, I can understand what is happening with him to some degree and feel badly for him. I hope that he gets the help that he needs.

And to chango, your responses are ignorant, completely and totally. Believe it or not buddy, life is not a black and white chalk board and is full of grey. Learn compassion and empathy, it can take you much farther in life then just throwing out blanket statements, not everyone is perfect like you expect them to be.

Aubrey Huff has Anxiety because he won the world series 2 years ago and hasn't lived up to expectations since? In addition if he stops playing baseball today, he'll still have the security of knowing he's made enough money to at least put his kid through college..

The "anxiety" you describe about supporting your family sounds like you are anxious and concerned. Having anxiety disorder is a completely different thing. It isn't they every day worries that we all have, it is a mental health disorder.

The fact is, we don't really know what's wrong with Aubrey. No, not even you, emmjay! We may never know, as it is a personal matter. They're calling it "anxiety" maybe because that's a generic, catch-all problem a lot of us can relate to, and it doesn't sound too weird or scary. It could be something else entirely.
