Our Yankees are playing very spotty baseball, John. You never know if they'll actually show up or not lol

I'm laughing now but they better turn it around soon. It was wonderful seeing Gardy and Swish on the field during batting practice on Saturday. Swissssh kept running the bases and when he got to third base, he would bow towards the dugout, sort of saying to Joe G., "see, I can do it!" lol He is such a fun player!

C.C. was awesome. Kuroda, however, was very hittable. I had a wonderful time and really enjoyed seeing and experiencing Kauffman Stadium :)

I hope all is well with you, Sue and the moggies!

Good afternoon Maria.Yes our Yankees need to be more consistent in their approach to each game.Hopefully they will.I hope your day is going well,it is a Bank Holiday here, but the weather is terrible as it usually is on Bank Holiday's...LOL.Take care my good friend.L.John. to Maria and the cats that try and rule her home, just like they try and do here as well...LOL.xxxxxxx

Awwwww Dharma was so happy when I got home last night. Booda was more restrained but they followed me upstairs to watch me unpack and put the suitcase back where it belonged and then this morning they were both upstairs to see if I was up and going to start the morning routine of getting ready for work. They don't like it when we change things :)

Sorry to hear about the weather. It was hot in K.C. but at least there was a breeze. And yes, our Yankees need start by consistently getting runners on base home!!!

Good Morning Maria.I bet the both of the cats were so happy to see their mom come home. They hate change as you say.Ours are exactly the same.Well Maria let us hope Ivan can get back to winning after such a long run was ended the other day.We need to beat the Rays in this series ,if anything it will send a message to them and the other A.L.East teams that The Yankees are well and are going to compete, even without our beloved Mariano Rivera.Lets Go Yankees.Have a good day Maria...L.John.xxx

They are happy to have me back, John. They've been very attentive ;-)

Yes, let's take this series! Ivan better be SuperNova tonight! I am so going to miss Mo this season :( I haven't heard anything on whether or not he is going to have the operation.

I hope you are having a good day my friend :)

Well Maria,we had our wish last night, and he was a super Nova indeed. But I do not want too many Houdini acts in the eighth and the Ninth inning,it does my old heart no good at all.The game againbst Tampa tonight is on my TV Channel and so I shall not have to watch it on the MLB TV package.Hopefully I will stay awake for the whole game.I hope your day is going well for you Maria.Hugs and L to youxxxxxxxxJohn.Lets Go Yankees.Lets Go David.J.xxx

I so agree John. Houdini had to throw a lot of pitches. I am really going to miss Mo this season although I know D-Rob can do it. But I never doubted Mo. He's simply the best!

Let's hope we win tonight and take the series. Young Phelps will have to be calm, cool and collected tonight. Andy is on the mound on Sunday, just in time for Mother's Day.

Have a wonderful evening and LET'S GO YANKEES!!!

Hugs back to you and the family, my friend :)

I asked the question whether, after the ACL injury and Mo saying he will come back next year (not willing to leave the game in this matter), whether we'd ever know if he had originally decided that his year was going to be his last

he had said he had already made up his mind, he wouldn't tell us that decision until the end of the year, and that the decision was final

and almost everybody, myself included, assumed that meant he WAS going to retire ("say it ain't so, Mo!) -- and now it comes out that his decision was to continue on, and that his injury didn't cause him to CHANGE his mind

SURPRISE!

you go, Mo! despite your absence from the field this year, you remain in my heart:

Mo -- simply THE BEST THERE EVER WUZ

Sadly Maria David could not do it two days running.I was wondering why he did not reverse the pitching for the eighth and have David pitch and then have Soriano pitch the ninth.Joe said that he was going to do that closer role between them.Anyway David and possibly Soriano will not pitch tonight even if we need them,as for the past two nights they have thrown a lot of pitches. We will have to see.I thought the pitchers prior to the ninth were superb and David Phelps pitched excellently and though he left with the bases loaded Boone came on and got the out.Well we move on to C.C tonight and let us hope he pitches another gem.Have a good day Maria.Hugs from us all.L John.xxxxx....p.s.I thought Niemann of the Rays was excellent as well. The Rays are a tough team these days....:¬).Jxx

A nice win for C.C last night Maria, and Soriano got the save, and to be honest Maria I hope Joe puts David back as the set up guy and Soriano is the closer, otherwise why did we get him for?We will see anyway. But C.C was a horse last night and even with the errors he did not let that get to him.Nice to see Robbie is warming up and I had NO doubts he would either.I send healing vibes to Brett and hope to see him back soon. And Eric Chavez too.Eduardo Nunez is fine,he will make mistakes as was seen again last night, but when a player is moved around other positions it must take extreme concentration to field each position. At least that is the way I see it.he will be fine.Have a great day Maria.Hugs from us all.L John.xxxx

Hi John, now we have to take the Seattle series. That is always the key...take the series.

Yes, C.C. was awesome last night and, as you say, he didn't let Nunez' mistakes throw him off his game. That is what we need. Don't let these things rattle you. Sunday we see Andy pitching at Yankee Stadium for the first time in a very long time. He also has that big game pitcher mentality. I am so happy he is back!

I hope all is well with you, Sue and the kitty cats :)

All is well with Sue and Inky and Molly and Kitt thank you Maria.:¬)
You are so right about this series as well.It is important as it always has been to take the series, tonight is a tough pitching match-up with Felix Hernandez, but I feel Hiroka has it in him to fox the Seattle hitters,it is then up to our bats to ring out.I was thinking that you might have decided to go to Yankee Stadium to see Andy's game, but I am sure you will get there some time this season.Another HR by both Grandy and Robbie lasdt night, which was a pleasure to see.Hugs to you Maria.L.John.xxxx

Well if I lived in NYC I would make my family take me for Mother's Day but we are a bit too far for that!

You are right though, I will definitely make plans to go soon to see him pitch. Dharma and Booda said to say hello to Inky, Molly and Kitt :) Yesterday they managed to get into the drawers under the bed platform and fall asleep in the clean sheets. They like those drawers lol

Hello Maria. An excellent win by Hiroka and well pitched too.Nice to see Dave back out there for a couple of hitters.I thought when Jesus went deep that a lot of posters who disagreed with that trade would be on the site, and a few were, but Raul went deep for the three run home run and put us up 4-2.And Andruw capped it off with a nice blast as well. After all of the ST complaints about Ibanez it is nice to see him getting into the swing of things now.Now we have Phil on the hill this afternoon, and let us hope he can get another win,it would be huge for him and for the Yankees. We will have to wait and see.Hector Noesi as the other piece of that trade will be in opposition to Phil and that will also be interesting too.Have a good Saturday Maria,I have a few gardening tasks to complete and it will be hard work.Nighty,Night Maria.L.John.xxxx
