Hector Sanchez is expendable in SF since Buster Posey is there.

Maybe a package including him, Brandon Belt, and other?

Aubrey Huff went on the DL with anxiety disorder today so I'd wonder if Belt was available.

Would definitely trade him if we could get a legit bat. There is little batting help on the horizon, I'm afraid. Our high minors are barren of any real sticks outside of Marte and lower minors are impossible to project.

We need to look outside the org and if FA's don't want to come here, that means trade. This problem isn't going to go away soon, even if Pedro starts hitting we are going to need to drive the baseball much more if we want to break that elusive .500 mark.

We aren't even out of April yet. Lots of things change as season progresses.
This thread is rather silly.

I think we should trade CoonellyDUI to Guantanamo Bay for 3 Taliban terrorists and a Starbucks gift card. They would be more pleasant to deal with over a cup of coffee.

On second thought, Guantanamo's GM probably wouldn't take that deal.

Angels just removed Jordan Walden from their closer's role and have inserted 83-year old Scott Downs there. Think we could get the Halos, Giants, and Red Sox in a bidding war for Hanrahan?

it would be nice to see the Pirates in the driver's seat in regard to any deal involving Hanrahan. He is the type of player who could get them an excellent return . If some of those big market teams get nervous about falling too far behind for lack of a closer then, the Pirates need to play it cool and ask their price and keep the phone lines open to other teams with interest. A premium shortstop and a big hitting outfielder or first baseman would be required in the deal. It may be a little early for teams to push for Hanrahan but by June the Pirates may be getting serious phone calls.
