Sure, everyone is searching for answers and everyone has their opinion as to what the problem could be. Just as I'm sure many don't think there is a problem, but it's just the ebb and flow of the season. Of course, it's just my take in trying to put reason to my frustration in watching them play at home in recent times.

But don't be so fast in the 'losing-the-clubhouse' theory. Of course, it's just a theory, but it's something I"ve seen before, in particular with the Cowboys, as I mentioned before. ANd like I said (or maybe I didn't in this thread, I don't remember) but I once heard someone talking about the dangers of "player" managers or coaches, and how, though the players may love them and want to play hard for them, they tend to lose their edge when they become to comfortable with said manager/coach.

Of course, all I"ve got to go on is what I"ve seen with other teams and their trials and tribulations. And Donnie may not have lost the clubhouse, but it wouldn't suprise me if he did. For me, the question is if he can get it back. Like I said, I think Donnie is still trying to find his footing as a manager, which is why I"m not completely done with him. But the more he does certain things, the more he's definitely losing my support.

The trouble with Mattingly is he seems to remember when a player does something good--even if he only does it once in a blue moon. In the case of Uribe, it appears Donnie is still recalling that pinch hit 2 run homer he hit off RA Dickey in NY about a month ago. Instead, Donnie should be thinking about all the time Uribe did absolutely nothing at the plate but embarrass himself and kill a rally.
