I'm probably in a minority but I don't give a hoot about the ALL STAR game. I think the whole thing is over rated. The season is so long that I think that they should name the ALL STAR teams and leave it at that. As for the Homerun Derby, I think it's a joke ... so what if you hit a homerun with a ball across the middle of the plate. Show me that you can hit a homerun with bases loaded to win a game.
Personaly, I take a 3 day break during the entire affair.

You are right......but even teams with no allstars can be winners if they all play together as a TEAM...but with shmucks like Hanley and Bell (Gaby is gone thank god) and a mgr like Ozzeee who has now PROVEN he cant build team confidence and growth..do you expect anything else.

There ARE some very good players on this club, but this club is NOT a TEAM....its a collection only.

So as long as Hanley and Bell and Buck remain then forget about this club being successful.

Game, set, match.

Stick that in your pipe Samson (also another shmuck IMO)

I will give you a name that should have been an All Star, Ruggiano. He has AVG close to 400, with a OBP over 450 !

I know he did NOT qualify but "The Kid" knows how the game should be played.

Anybody that can have those numbers with having Ozzie as a manager and a team mate, Hanley, is fantastic !!

I just hope he does not pick up bad habits from other poor hitting Marlins.

Go FISH.

Yes ...rugs looks like he's for REAL....love him and Stanton....

others Im very high on are Solano, Cishek, Boni, Reyes,Mujica........also the starting pitching.

The rest are very inconsistent....including Lomo and Infante.....

I wish we had a mgr that made these guys bunt against the shift, steal, hit and run, hit to the right side to score or advance runners etc etc....but this team has awful mgr and coaching...its plain disgusting....the Brewers kicked their a-holes last time with sac bunts and other trick plays.....but they have a great mgr IMO.......someone like that is what we need....not this pain in the youknowwhat who just talks and talks etc etc.

LoL!! Give Ruggiano some time. Yes is his average off the charts? Is his OBP awesome.. yes!! But how many games has he played?? If this is the case I'd be willing to be that we have TONS of All Star candidates all around the league. And tell me honestly do you expect him to by the end of the year be hitting near .400? I sure hope he does, but hes only played in like 30ish games total. An All Star caliber season is not made after 30ish games.
