Actually in Hudson's 19 starts this season Mac has caught 11 of them.

They both played for Auburn '96 to '97. Hudson was always more comfortable with Ross. They wanted Hudson to eventually feel comfortable with Mccann because they wanted Mccann's bat in the lineup when they needed it, such as the playoffs. I would see no coincidence in more of Ross's starts coming when Huddy starts though.

David Ross hasn't exactly been the model of defensive genius this year either.

McCann isn't the greatest defensive catcher in baseball....but he isn't nearly as bad as some people make him out to be. And his bat more than makes up for any defensive problems.

Yeah, Huddy is known not to like them in front of or behind him .

Seriously, I agree if there was (is) any reason its the Auburn connection. Many pitchers I've known have been a bit superstitious that they pitch better to a certain catcher than others.
