Complete games were the norm thru the 70's. Mostly 7 or 8 innings minimum. INNINGS...NOT pitch counts. Those days are long gone. Even now, high school, college and minors, they all have 1, 2, or 3 out lefty vs righty specialty, etc. relievers...MONEY drives the teams to protect the arms of the few starters remaining. They are taught only to be throwers, not pitchers. Not too many Cains or Madbums around.
Look at the most recent hall of Fame pitchers and their complete games. We never expected LESS than 8+ innings from ANY pitcher.
guess the game has changed that much, right under our noses. i still see pictures of "old timers" of recent times with their arms still part of their bodies. they did not fall off. i still think it puts a idea in their minds that all they have to do is go 5 innings, or this b.s. 100 pitch count.
You're a freak.
:) GO GIANTS
You got that crystal ball thingy cranking again?
What's Belt going to do.
Another 2 for 10 w/RISP tonight.
Still this team's achilles heel.
