Don't even worry about It. I don't want to talk to you guys again about McGehee again. This thread isn't about McGehee. You'll apologize for him until Memorial Day anyway, so come see me then when his OPS is .700 and he's playing sub-par defense at 3rd. If I'm wrong 90% of this board will be shoving it in my face and I'll tell you all how smart you are.

The thought process isn't that much more complex than you see out of 6 or 7 year old. You guys get a toy and play with it for a while. It kind of s*cks. You see another toy that's easily krappier, but because it's new to you you'll grab for it..... Then you realize that toy s*cks too... and over and over and over again we go.

Now you're grabbing for that "new" toy that clearly s*cks. A Hand-me-down toy that was thrown away because it s*cks by the kid you hate at school (brewers). Still, you're reaching for it ! Stop the insanity kids.

""It also holds true for a lot of relievers. Very few spots are an open competition in spring training. How many pitching spots have had multiple guys competing for them this spring for the Pirates? 2 or 3 bullpen spots?""

Yeah, and a bunch of relievers vying for those spots. And don't hand me they were out there working on pitches. Most relievers only have 2 decent pitches. That's a big reason why they're relievers.

Speaking of Criminals, did you see Ryan Leaf got arrested for burglary for the second time in 3 days. He was out on bail for burglary and theft of prescription meds and got busted again 2 days later.

"Does anyone know his workout habits, what time he got to the ballpark while in the minors, how much extra batting and fielding practice he took, how well he worked with managers and coaches, how much time he spent preparing with scouting reports/video, did he enjoy the nightlife a little too much, etc."

The players and coaches have said he is the hardest worker on the team. And anyone that comments on his weight should have had their eyes examined at least two years ago.

"Exactly. How else does one measure a baseball players success other than stats ? It's the most stat heavy sport their is. Yet were supposed to ignore them in ST. Doesn't make sense.

IN Pedros case it doesn't matter if who he's facing. Legit starter, guy trying to make it, journeyman, whatever, He isn't hitting them. Thats disturbing."

People want to ignore the 150+ ABs Pedro had against major leaguers during the season, but we should pay attention to 30 ABs against minor leaguers? You keep talking about the tape pitchers had on him, what about the tape he does not have on those pitchers?

"i know that, but in Hague's case, it is not a dratistic reverse split. It is more even."

It was until last year.

Unfortunately for you, he is a baseball player and not a pro bodybuilder. Are you going to tell off Huntington for saying "he's never going to model a swimsuit"? Isn't that a comment on his weight made only 1 1/2 months ago?

"he's never going to model a swimsuit"

Don't big and tall stores advertise and need models?

He's not big enough or tall enough unfortunately. Maybe he could model bowling shirts instead.

He does have the build of a bowler... Old Pedro Two-Pins. What's the Mendoza Line for bowling?

Doesnt mean he's fat or out of shape, most people even in perfect shape wouldn't fit swimsuit model material.

But Neal doesn't need to provide him with an excuse either. You'll see Pedro pulling into KFC after stops at Wendy's and a local pizzeria, and when you ask him about his eating habits, he'll just shrug his shoulders and say, "I'll never model swim suits anyway... Now make with the extra crispy, and bring the grav-y... lotsa grav-y."

Fyi, grav-y is a forbidden word.

For Pedro, KFC grav-y is a basic food group... a staple of life... the thing foodstuffs are made of...
