In my humble opinion, the biggest offensive mistake the Mariners have commited is the retention of figgins. I believe after today's game he's hitting somewhere in nthe neighborhood of .085. And good players sit on the bench watching him.

Who is he taking playing time from? Liddi isn't a major leaguer just yet, Seager doesn't hit enough for 3B. I mean I know everyone's sick and tired of Figgy but we're on the hook for paying for him, aren't really competing at all, it doesn't hurt to give him some reps and see if he can turn into a useful player again. Liddi and Seager are going to be around, their values aren't going down. Figgins has none and if he can regain some we might be able to move him and save a bit of cash. That's really the only thing I can think of. I'm sick of him too, though.
