Yes, some days you do have to 'tip your cap' as you say but we've been doing an awful lot of that the last few years. I want our hitters to at least start making contact when we have guys on the bases, we get guys on then we mysteriously stop hitting. LaHair is the only home run threat in the line-up right now, Campana can't get on often enough to use his speed, Soriano's power stroke has completely disappeared and Stewart looks like a statue in the batters box. The only threat to reach base with any regularity is Castro and that's a really sad indictment of where this team is at. Pitchers have to throw shutouts every day, the bullpen could implode at any minute and so could a couple of guys on defense at the drop of a hat. Where's the consistency at bat? Do we not now know how to sacrifice etc? Plate discipline is still a major problem.
Maholm vs Halladay, yes, a blind squirrel etc etc. Lucky to get one out of the three, that's my prediction for this series. .500 looks mighty far away already.......!!!
