    • Belt benched for failure in 10 abs

Then I guess we disagree.

I don't think he's going to improve unless he gets the consistent AB's. I don't think he's just going to come off the bench one day and become a .300 hitter. I think that's going to require him to see enough ML pitching to make the proper adjustments.

I don't think there should be a daily competition for the first base job. I think it should be Belt's job until the ASB. If he proves by then he's not ready, then fine. But 11 Ab's tells me nothing about what Belt can do this year.

A little personal isn't it... Did I offend?

Is there a Blowchy poster over your bed or something?

The World Series was won in spite of Bochy and Sabean, n ot because of them...

You are the one that is simple minded...

If Bochy is the manager in 86'... a prospect named William Nuschler Clark never goes yard against Nolan Ryan in his first AB...

Blow-chy and Hensley need to go bye bye baby!!!

If the Giants fired Bochy they would be the laughing stock of mlb.

And btw Clark hit the homerun in his first AB, are you saying Clark wouldn't have even gotten a single AB?

To play devil's advocate, Bochy is getting "lucky" (lol I know) with some of this production. Once we start averaging 2 runs a game and hardly getting on base while Huff forgets how to hit Belt will still be on the bench and Bochy's built in excuse will be gone. Huff wasn't the reason we were scoring runs in AZ.

Im just saying that his first AB would not have been against Ryan at that point... if it were up to Blowchy...

Surley the fact that it was his first AB was impressive, but being off of Ryan surely sets him a part from others that have done the same off of lesser pitchers...

I just feel Blowchy has been along for the ride... He keeps Muellens which is a mistake... The offense is going to have ups and downs, but when a team is down is when a manager has to be creative and and have vision... Blowchy has not done that... He was just in the right place at the right time...

Every single move he made near the end of 2010 worked out, you can call them all luck if you want but he was not along for the ride. Almost every bullpen decision, benching Pablo, leaving Zito off the roster all of it went great. Like I said write it all off as luck if you want, but I do not agree. Last year I think he made mistakes with the lineups and such, but I don't think that is why we didn't make the playoffs last year.

its the same old thing with Belt.

pagan has stunk up the joint until last night and they stuck with him at leadoff.

i was at the game last night...alot of fun, despite the keystone cops in the infield, sandoval and crawford.

it was exciting from start to improbable finish.

why the heck did bochy put Huff at cleanup? are we still hoping for the Huff of 2010? he's long gone guys...in case no ones noticed after the first week and a half Huff looks like the 2011 Huff, ie one soft groundout after another with a K or two mixed in.

last night he was a very quiet 0-4 and never hit the ball out of the infield, alot like last year. he stranded runners left and right.

belt is wasting away on the bench, even against righties.

why no scorn for huff? he arguably had one of the worst seasons of all time for a bigtime franchise clubhouse leader hitting in the low .200's and driving in a paltry 59 runs in over 500 at bats hitting in the 3-4-5 holes. i like to keep score and i have never seen so many soft 4-3 groundouts by one guy in a season.

he was absolutely horrible yet due to 2010 he was given a pass by management and fans.

all we are saying is give Belt a season, or at least half a season. at this point they have given him neither and i for one dont want to see another season of puff-ball at first base. he's done, stick a fork in him.

Yadidimean I totaly agree with everything you said. Something else everybody is forgetting, out of those 57 strick outs, most of them came at the end of his everyday play last year. I think is was some like 20 out of his last 32 at bats. And now he has picked up, right where he left off. The people here will think of any reason to say he didn't get a chance. Like it was lefty vs. lefty, or it was a night game he dosen't do good at night, or they had him in the outfield, he had to thin k about that. even if things were perfect for him, YOU ARE RIGHT, he has a whole in his swing.

"He should get his AB's just not everyday AB's like you're suggesting; until the proves he's the best option at 1B."

Catch-22

This is a lot like that old saying "The beatings will continue until morale improves.".
