Who cares about the manager's post game comments? They don't affect the team's performance in any way. A man was paid 200 plus mil to anchor the franchise, failed for over two months, and some fans turn their anger towards the manager.
The Red Sox found (and fired) their scapegoat in Francona, but that team is still dysfunctional. Valentine trashed Youkilis for his slow start then appeared only mildly disappointed that Beckett played golf while injured. Bad things happen when managers don't have control of the clubhouse.
"Jerry" inherited good players acquired by Reagins (Downs, Jerome Williams, Haren, maybe Callaspo) and for once the prospects did not fail. Arte's deep pocket (and his willingness to allow "baseball people" do their things) benefited him just as much as his predecessors. Remember, Arte paid GMJ over 50 mil, and he apparently OKed the Wells trade.
Dipoto may have committed HIS fatal mistakes in ONLY HIS FIRST SEASON. Imagine Pujols hitting .265/20/90ish for the next 4 seasons before seriously declining. What about Erick Aybar? What's gonna happen at the C position? Those are enough to offset CJ Wilson and Frieri.
I would wait to see how he addressed the still ongoing problems with the team before kissing the rings on his fingers that haven't been won yet.
