Once upon a time in the year 2008 a troll named Mutttts came to warn the Cubs (best record in baseball) faithful about the Dodgers (sub .500 team at the time), Mutttts spents 3 months telling these Cub fans to not get their hopes up because the Cubs WILL be swept in the first round by the Dodgers. For three months the Cubs faithful laughed at Mutts, taunting him, calling him every terrible name you could possibly think of, all because Muttts wanted to spread the truth. Well three months later as Cub fans laid on the streets crying wondering WHAT had happened and how a team like the Dodgers could SWEEP their amazing 100 win team. I'm glad we didn't win the WS that year. If we did McCourt probably wouldn't be on his way out and we wouldn't be able to add Hamels, Cain and Greinke next year. Like I said, our payroll is currently 80 mill (including over 10 mill in salary to Manny and Jones), we will be able to add 100 mill to that 80 mill into the 180 mill range. So yes we could pay them 65 mill AND have 35 mill left over for offense. Even if it takes 70 mill to sign all three we could still do it.
