I am happy for Youk and kudos to Williams for having the guts and making a Deal. Dodgers and Pirates haven't had the guts to do a trade. They should be ashamed with their zero offense.

We all knew that Youk could thrive with a change of scenery.

So? When he was struggling, lot of people had to question his effort but that doesn't mean to trade him away for 2 scrubs and THROW IN $6.5 MILLION AS WELL. He probably felt like the team wasn't showing commitment to him anymore with Middlebrooks.

I am not fully sold on Middlebrooks especially with the way he has been playing the past couple weeks. My main issue is THE SOX GAVE UP YOUK FOR 2 SCRUBS WITH ZERO VALUE... AND THEN THEY THREW IN $6.5 MILLION ON TOP OF THAT.

It was the trade and $6.5 million that was my main problem. Do you understand now? Now Youk turned into the all-star Youk for the White Sox and I gotta see some sweet defensive highlights on sportscenter from him.

Would anyone be shocked if Youk completely outproduces Middlebrooks for the next couple years? I wouldn't be.

Williams having the guts? He gave up 2 scrub players worth 2 pack of peanuts and got $6.5 million as well from the Sox.

ChiSox are laughing at that trade.

Just like the A's are laughing at the Reddick/Bailey trade.

You said earlier others were wrong to hope for a return to form by Youkilis. Now that he hit a hot streak while the Sox are slumping you're saying you expected him to do it all along. How can you ever be wrong with such an ability to lie to yourself? And does that mean anyone else should have to listen to it while you do?

The real truth is that most Sox fans hoped for Youk to come back strong all season. And they're not bemoaning his recent success coupled with Middlebrooks' injury to take cheap shots at Cherington now either. He took the best deal available, I'm sure. Are you sure otherwise? Please let us know your inside information if so. If Valentine hadn't greased the skids and instead the deadline was looming, that deal would have been better.

Youk's value was partially determined by the fact that it was unlikely he would bring back any first round compensation and his option year was too pricey. He was unable to reestablish his value as hoped. He's a temp with question marks.

Of course you're not fully sold on Middlebrooks the way he's played lately. And that will change yet again when you feel another need to reinvent your past.

Youk went 1 for 3 (2 runs, HR, BB).

Youk being All-Star calibur Youk now!

As I said before and a million times, it was the 2 scrubs and the $6.5 million that bothered me. If the Sox traded for HIS CORRECT VALUE, I wouldn't be so upset but I knew Youk was going to turn into the typical hot hitting Youk.

Great players just don't lose it like that. He needed his chance and not have the Red Sox shenanigans around him.

Just like how everyone laughed at my 30 home run prediction for A-Gon last season... He hit 27. Everyone here were predicting 40-50 home runs with ease. LAUGHED AT MY HATRED OF THE $160 MILLION SIGNING. Really worth it!

Just like how everyone laughed at my HATRED for the Bailey trade.... Laughed at my HATRED for the Lowrie for Melancon.... Laughed at my HATRED of letting ALL-STAR PAPELBON go. The pitcher who has 18 saves and 1 blown save. How is Aceves doing?... Laughed at my HATRED of the Sox getting Salt. What did I say from day 1? You remember me completely doubting the catcher who couldn't even throw the ball to the pitcher in between pitches?! I said he was atrocious. Where does he rank defensively?..... How about people laughing at the Beckett extension which I was baffled why the Sox gave it to him?

Laugh it up but I am right.... Denial isn't just a river in Egypt.

He keeps using that same old tired joke, maybe someone ought to tell him that the Nile actually runs through ten countries: Sudan, South Sudan, Burundi, Rwanda, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Tanzania, Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda and Egypt.

Even a blind pig finds an ear of corn once in a while. That said, you flip flop more than Romney on whether you like a guy or not. I'm actually tired of finding your old posts that continually contradict your viewpoints. Yes, you are a joke...a sad one, but nonetheless a joke. Ha Ha He He.

If Youk stayed in RS, he will be keeping his free fall and never comes back.
He was in slump in RS very long, the worst thing was, Valentine rule this team. And this guy always did great job, in destroy the player's moral.

This trade was good for RS and WS.
No way Youk will play like this in RS.

So, just forget him.

"This trade was good for RS and WS."

The 2 scrubs are playing like all-stars for the Red Sox?! Lillibridge batting .150 and is hitless with the Red Sox... It was "really good" for the Red Sox.
