    • Is the organization promotion of Duda pretext for trading..

So are they also ordering the Media to hype up his bullpen sessions? And did Wilpon tell Ike Davis to tell Mike Francesa that he believes Duda is a better hitter than he is?

Duda is an exciting new player and let's not forget the Mets are promoting Duda to sell tickets! Why would the brass discourage mid-season game ticket sales by trading away talented, low salaried players? Wright will not be traded since the owners like him. ... and Wright is a reason why some fans come to the ballpark to watch him play!

Do you think that the organization is pumping up Duda so they can trade wright / davis and still claim that they have someone worth watching in Duda?

They may trade Wright but not Davis. Why would they trade Davis he is a big part of the Mets offense.

Didn't Alderson already offer up Jonathon Niese and Ike Davis for a possible trade this winter or was that just a false rumor ? Doesn't look like anyone is off the table , but they really need to trade for new owners since the plan for rebuilding will eventually call for spending on free agents and with the huge loans Wilpon has due in 2014 and 2015 he ain't gonna have any money to spend for quite awhile !

The Ike Davis part is false, it was originally thought to be him but it was Niese he was open to trading.

I think that they are obviously pimping Duda this offseason b/c in a perfect world they would trade him for a useful starter. Duda is a man without a position on this team, even though we are going to stick him in RF...If his bat plays this Spring, and we can convince someone that he is a budding power hitter under team control, perhaps we can swing a decent prospect for him. Trade Duda!

That is good to be able to watch the mets play and not support them
I have been looking at how I can get to a road Mets game...
I am also picking up a second team to help get me through these tough times... I will be following the Angels as well.. You can get to their games lol

yeah i actually live about 20 min from angels stadium...maybe a lil more in traffic...i plan on going to a lot of games...last season, i lived about 10 min from dodgers stadium...i went to every dodgers mets game and bc the teams were both disasters and the garbage going on w/ mccourt, i was able to sit field level behind home plate for like 30 bucks...also went to probably 10 other games...would basically get off work and go sc.rew it, print out some stub hub tix and head over to the stadium

looking forward to getting a chance to watch pujols hit this season though...that contract will probably bite them in the <arse but hey...not my team, right haha...im just looking forward to watching him rip the baseball all over for the next few seasons

"Davis was being nice speaking about duda.. he is not gonna say "I'm a better hitter than he is" on the radio... davis is a much better player than duda "

He wasn't asked if he thought Duda was a better hitter, he brought up Duda pretty much out of the blue and was raving about him and said he was on record saying it in the past and still believes it.

Regardless, it was said a few times this winter that no player was "off limits".

right now im in long beach, right by the water....i just moved here in dec though....ive been to a few angels games....beautiful stadium

been to way more dodgers games...before i moved to long beach i was living on the South Pasadena/Los Angeles (Highland Park) border, which is about 10 min from dodgers stadium

DS is a bit of a dump but its got history...whatever new ownership group gets in there though, it needs some serious upgrades

Studfirst basemen, Able to hit .300 and hit over 30 HRS under team control for another five plus years and years away from arbitration and you think he is trade bait?

Offering up is one thing, There were a number of teams interested in Ike, Duda and Neise but the price was not right.

If a team offered a stud young catcher or starter the Mets would have considered it but that is it.
