Perfect game to just realize how ridiculous some people can be. Switching Dunn and Rios in the batting order will literally create at most 0.01 runs over the rest of the season. Thornton just had like four or five outings where he didn't allow anything. <Sucks that he allowed a home run, but saying something like "I doubt he even gets the job done 1/3 of the time" or whatever some moron wrote earlier is too stupid for words. Go back over the past few weeks and notice some of the games that we've stolen late against teams like the A's and Angels, and maybe even the Rangers. Or how about a little further back against the Yankees. And yet, "playoff teams don't lose late games." One game has never been indicative of anything, ever, so stop trying to make it seem that way. Sometimes you lose. Goddamn.

Life of mediocrity in the ALC. But make it back to plus 12 and we are supposed to celebrate. This was supposed to be the homestand where Sox step up and make a statement. Much harder to do on the road. The talent seems there but the consistency is lacking.

Funny part is that most of the Thornton supporters won't deny that he's given up leads in a bunch of games. The problem is that when you constantly get put in with one run leads you basically have two options. You give up the lead or you have a scoreless outing. Thornton's had some very good outings recently and some where he has given up that one run. Meanwhile, Nate Jones gets put in with 2-3 run leads. If he gives up a run, nobody remembers it. People are just ridiculous when it comes to relievers. This is especially funny because I'd love to hear their options for another lefty instead of Thornton. Should Septimo face lefties in the 8th?

CHICAGO (AP) -- Brandon Inge knew as soon as he made a diving stop in the seventh inning what was wrong with his shoulder and what he needed to do as quickly as possible.

So, he just popped it back into place and stayed in the game Saturday night.

Two batters later, he started an inning-ending double play at third base, and then in the eighth he delivered the go-ahead single for the Oakland Athletics in a 9-7 victory over the Chicago White Sox.

''I dislocated it. I just had to put it back in the socket,'' Inge said of his right shoulder that came out of place after he made a diving stop in the seventh on Alex Rios' infield single down the third base line.

''It might get a little sore tomorrow, but I'll do my best,'' Inge said.

The White Sox went on to score in the seventh on A.J. Pierzynski's RBI single for a 7-6 lead. But Jonny Gomes homered off Matt Thornton (4-8) in the eighth, and after singles by Yoenis Cespedes and Chris Carter, Inge greeted reliever Brett Myers with a go-ahead single into the right field corner.

''I guess it just shows two teams that don't want to give up. I like that,'' Inge said.

I suppose the Tigers can be happy that he helped them out at least once this season :)
