"
The Democratic party isn't what it used to be
"

No, but they are closer to being what they used to be than the Republicans are, which transformed from primarily a fiscally conservative group (which didn't mean JUST "no new taxes" but meant fiscal responsibility) to a social activist group for evangelicals and other extremists and cowtowing to every corporate whim, whether reasonable or not. They spent like drunken sailors on shore leave when they had the tiller and now want people to sacrifice their social security and medicare in order to "reign in spending". Ptui to them.

"Sweeping legislation at a lightning pace"? I assume you're talking about Obamacare. Only in Washington could that be considered "lightning pace". LOL.

And the Republicans are a party that "builds coalitions and make compromises"? You have to be joking. And if Romney is elected, the Dems will be more than willing to throw THEIR filibusters in the Republicans faces. That is why I am saddened for the state of our union.

Nixon told us what his plan was to end the war in Vietnam when he got in too. It turned out to be invading Cambodia.

Romney is beginning to look like Tricky Dic>>k more and more each day.

Did you know when Romney was running in Mass he repeatly indicated he had filed his tax returns in Mass because it was his primary residence. And used the phrase "You're just going to have to trust me on this one" Finally he had to admit he filed his tax returns in Utah where he got a bigger tax break. IE he was lying. Do you think the lame street media would point this out. No way.

"If Romney were more specific, you would be open to voting or him?"

No, but that's no reason for him not to be more specific. Don't those who are voting for him have a right to demand he be more specific? Why aren't you demanding it?

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

What *I* demand is.......Obama Talking JUST ONCE about HIS state of the economy. And What He's going to do to Correct HIS mess. How is he going to Lower the Unemployment. (Not raise it) How he's going to decrease the deficit and Debt. (Not Raise them)

How about the Republicans passing his infra-structure bils or would that be too simple.

Actually, Mitt, Americans have a right to hear those specifics you've been so steadfastly avoiding....

Just trust him. what is the problem? Less chance of him having to flip flop w/o giving any details.

Well passing an infrastructure bill would help but the GOP is against it. The more people working , the more would be paying taxes.

At least obama is not pushing for another unfunded and unnecessary war.
How did the last unneeeded war work out for the deficit and debt?

How would all of those Red State governors and legislatures, like Rick Perry of Texas, have balanced their budgets and kept at least some firefighters and police without the stimulus? Most economists have agreed that the Dem stimulus was too small, not too large, to do the job.

The government owns the infrastructure, it continues to be used. And gas taxes continue to be collected.

"One striking piece of data in the jobs numbers out Friday was just how much of a drag the public sector is on the lame economic recovery. While the private sector added 172,000 jobs in July; federal, state and local governments shed 9,000 jobs. Over the past three years, the government has eliminated 693,000 total jobs.

92 percent of leading economists agree that the stimulus helped reduce the unemployment rate, according to a February poll conducted by the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business. In July, Wolfers called Congress' refusal to consider another stimulus "an enormous dereliction of duty. By blocking Obama's jobs proposals, congressional Republicans are sabotaging the economy to win the 2012 election"

The GOP-led assault on public sector workers has damaged, not improved, the national economy, as well as the economies of states and localities.

I'd like BOTH of them to address that. Neither has a credible plan.

Sounds like you're easily fooled. No surprise there.

So we should return the failed policies of the Bush administration? How many times can you be fooled into believing THAT will work???

The last sentence is the MOST important one, and is unquestionably true. Deny it all you want; you've proven it time and time again, and in fact, I quote:

"You can put me down as a racist on the right. " -xxjoeyxx post 496393.27

"I am a racist" - xxjoeyxx post 496393.45

Now you want to say you're not?
