I've noticed his speeds change anywhere from 3-7 or 8 mph on his fast balls. he mixes them up pretty good and it messes with the hitters timing....that's my .2cents

Belisario had an odd outing. He got roughed up while he struck out the side. In all, Ron gave up three hits, one walk, & two earned runs. His ERA ballooned all the way up to 1.53.

Kenley was his usual dominant self. He pitched one inning, allowed no baserunners, & struck out two. His ERA dropped to 2.06 in a 7-1 loss to Arizona.

I didn't understand pitching Belli and Jansen in this game. The usual mantra is to "get some work", but with the AS game break, that doesn't make much sense. It was a good chance to pitch Tolleson {sp}; we weren't going to come back with that pathetic lineup! Seems to me it was more important to limit the mileage on these two arms.

Really I think that does make sense. If they didn't pitch last night, how long before someone like Belisario gets into a game again? Don was trying to keep them sharp.

Ronnie only needed 10 pitches for a perfect 8th inning & his 11th hold. His ERA is now 1.48.

Jansen only needed 15 pitches for his 16th save. His ERA is now 2.01.

Good to have Guerra back. He pitched a scoreless 7th inning for his 2nd hold. His ERA is now 3.00. It DID take him 23 pitches though.
