Much better. ; ) I noticed you edited twice so I know you put a lot more effort this time.

Well, as far as the "creepy" thing goes I still think that was creepy. Picturing Vin on his deathbed with the Dodger studio crew still trying to milk a few more lines before croaks is very creepy. I'm guessing you were just exaggerating with the death bed scenario. Still, this whole calling games from home idea reeks of "milking" Vin for all he's worth as well.

I love Vin as much as the next guy. Maybe not as much as you, but enough to let him go when he's ready to go. We've been more than lucky to have Vin around for as long as we have. In fact, it's felt like we've been on borrowed time with him since the late 90's, at least to me anyway.

I think he's earned the right to choose when to call it a day. I'm sure you agree. But I think what really seems off to me is the idea that he would do that. It just doesn't seem like Vin would be into it. Not to mention how difficult it would be, technically even. Vin would have to call what he sees on camera, and not look to where he would normally look on his own.

I recommend you just make peace with it. I did around the 06 season. I just started assuming it was his last year. Each year that goes by it seems more and more likely. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Wouldn't you want to wish him a happy retirement and a well deserved rest to live the rest of his life in leasure? Don't most of us have that as a goal in our senior years? I am happy for Vinny because I really think that he really enjoys what he is doing...and that is why he is still doing it. Once it becomes a chore for him and not what he wants to do then he should hang it up and retire in peace.

Don't be selfish just because no one can replace Vinny...when the time comes wish him "god speed and good luck" and let him live in peace.

Sounds like it would be cheaper to just clone Vin :-)

Vin broadcasting from home? C'mon, the man has a life and a family for crying out loud. Let him be. The team should have a fresh face come in, perhaps even a female announcer, someone eager to sit next to Vin and learn for an entire season. Let Vin mold this announcer, such as he was mentored by Red Barber. Then when Vin retires, turn her loose. The team could set another precident having a female play by play, doing the game single, like Vin does.

"If Vinny wants to broadcast from his bathtub, I would accomodate him."

All of that broadcast equipment near a tub full of water? What do you want to do electrocute him now?
