How do you know what a team needing a hitter would give up for Soriano if they are only paying him 10%? He's given the FO a list of teams he would waive his rights for. There's no purpose in keeping him if we are even offered a decent prospect who has the chance to make it to the majors.

Because he isn't and that is what they are trying to do. They are trying to get him to take more pitches, be more patient and wait for his pitch. The result will be his average will go down, but his Ks, OBP, and power will go up

I will take a .280 hitter with a .350 OBP over a .300 hitter with a .330 OBP every time
