i luv reyes, but i am sold on tejada. when comparing stats, please also compare ages, tejada 21 reyes 28?, and salaries, tejada $450k? reyes aav $16m. if tejada continues to impress, in a few yrs sandy will give him a niese type contract to tie him up for another 7 yrs or so. so we will get tejadas prime yrs for an aav of about $5m. ALSO COMPARE DAYS ON DL GOING FOWARD. i am not bad mouthing reyes, just saying tejada has a lot of value for mets. if tejada can hit .280 with an obp of .350 or better, plus his steady heady defense, we are gold. and at 21yrs of age, his best days are ahead of him.

"Until you can accept Reyes for what he was and wasn't and move on these comparisons are silly. "

Huh? They're both shortstops. I'm comparing their batting numbers. How is that silly exactly?

I'll take REYES over TEJADA any day of the week, and so would any other MLB team.......Any Met fan that thinks Tejada is better, is a joke of a baseball fan.

I can't improve upon this statement.

It all comes down to who helps us win more games. I do think Tejada can help close the gap on the difference in talent level with his baseball intelligence and consistency.

Man on 2nd base tie game late no outs, One player pop up, the next grounds out to the right side allowing the runner to advance to third. both shows up as an out in the box score but one was a complete failure the other was a huge help.

Enough with Reyes. Let him dance his way into the Everglades and get lost.

And not to pile on, but one of those came at third base with 2 outs. A big no no.

here is a joke.... its only 8 or 9 games, but here it goes

Tejada - .912 OPS, 7 runs created (8 games) 450k a year

Reyes - .660 OPS, 5 runs created (9 games) 10 million this year, average 16 million next 6.

now that is funny.

So 8 games is about $22,000 for Tejada, $800,000 For Reyes

end of the season, do you think Reyes will have created more than 10 times the runs than Tejada did? If your answer is 'no' you are in on the joke too. Over the next 6 seasons do you think Reyes will created more than 32 times the Runs Tejada will? If the answer is no, well then you just became one of the 'teams' that thought it wasnt worth signing Reyes, and must know nothing about baseball too.

Reyes isn't a Met anymore so I'm not concerned with him. All I care about is Tejada and how he does.
