i hope the liriano signing (2/12.75mil) didn't cause this. hanny has an expected arb3 salary of 7mil.

I think Grilli re-upping with the Bucs made Hanny expendable. His walk rate went up last year.

his BB/K was 26/58 through august but tacked on a 10/9 after. if grilli can handle the 9th, then it's trading depth before hanny walks away. he wouldn't be getting a qualifying offer.

if his 7mil gets applied to liriano, it's sideways, but IF pit makes another acquisition, to fill a need (SS, 1B, SP) it's good roster management with hannys salary.
