You got me. I will admit, those early years (from 1883 to 1980) were personally, really difficult on me, especially when you factor in the 2 world wars, korea, and viet nam. I don't really know how I got through it as an american, but more importantly, as a Phillies fan. I guess the good book got me through it. Good things come to those who wait, however. the last 30 some years have been pretty good in Phillie land.

The Mets have been in 2 World Series in that 30 yrs -- losing in 2000, and winning in 1986.

So the Phils have the same number of WS wins as the Mets in the last 30 yrs.

Phils have been in the playoffs 6 times in the last 30 yrs.

Mets have been in the playoffs 5 times in the last 30 yrs.
