If used properly, I think Vernon could still have some value somewhere, even maybe on this team. But I agree, Scioscia has shown a complete inability to use him in a way that he might add something in a halo uniform. Even after he told everyone that Vernon was going to be ok with a very limited role, Scioscia cant stop putting his name on the starting lineup card.

I don't know Vernon personally, but I gotta think his morale as an Angel is terrible. The majority of fans don't like him and don't want him on this team, and he must know it.

He must be nervous when he steps up to the plate in home games, thinking about how loudly he'll be booed or how few cheers he'll receive.

He's not "too blessed to be stressed." I think he actually loves playing baseball. Unfortunately, he's just not very good at it anymore. Or in an Angel uniform at least. It must kill him inside that he hasn't been able to contribute. That's my take.

Anyway, if Wells is in the lineup tonight against a righty in Parker, I'm going to flip.
