Just wanna point out that Brett Wallace is playing SS today.

Huh? Is he trying to become a utility infielder or is this just a temporary move?

I was thinking it was a gameday mistake, but with hessman and dominguez it probably isn't. Are they just trying to get him some ABs before calling him up? If he isn't called up for the game tomorrow, I don't know what they are doing. Wallace at SS makes no sense, even for a game. He should be with the Astros and now he is being displaced by Hessman/Dominguez? Weird for sure

According to @NewsOKRedHawks

"Marwin Gonzales had flight issues and Jimmy Paredes is away for the birth of his child. Brett Wallace forced into the shortstop role tonight."

"Choice was between Wallace and Dominguez for shortstop. DeFrancesco went with Wallace because of some high school experience at position."

Okay, so it looks like both Margo and Paredes are not available to play today. Hmm, it's kinda hard to believe Wallace used to play SS in high school. :)

I would have put Angel Sanchez there and Wallace at 2nd. Wallace's range has to be...well awful

It was painful to watch Sanchez play SS too.

I did a quadruple take when I just now saw Wallace listed as the SS, LOL.

Abbreviated comments tonight, I'm kind of busy.

The Corpus score is crazy. Frisco had a 2-0 lead going into the ninth, score two more in the top of that inning. Corpus scored four to tie in the bottom on the ninth, Frisco scored one in the top of the tenth, Corpus tied it in the bottom of the tenth, Frisco scores two in the top of the eleventh, and Corpus scored three in the bottom half to win it. Talk about never say die. The three runs in the 11th to walk off? An Austin Wates three-run bomb. How about THAT? Nice start for Seaton too.

1.194 OPS for DeShields in his last ten games, .290/.392/.426 overall. .304/.556/.391 in seven games for Fontana, 13 walks, but five whiffs in his last four games. Seven walks in the last eight games for Duffy, nice to see, he wasn't walking a great deal before these last couple of weeks.

Rodgers has been nails. 0.89 ERA, 1.8 BB/9 and 11.5 K/9, it doesn't get much more dominant than that. Aplin has a 1.027 OPS on the season with four doubles and three triples in 22 games. Seven walks and one strikeout for Morales during his last five games.

Im ready to see what this Preston Tucker can do. Alot of people considered Mike Zunino the best college bat in the draft. Here is his numbers vs Tucker’s:

Zunino: .322 BA, 19 HR, 67 RBI, 31 BB, 47 SO

Tucker: .321 BA, 16 HR, 50 RBI, 35 BB, 27 SO

Im not saying he is better but considering we got this guy in the 7th round, it could turn out to be a great pick.

Lancaster has a double header tonight on the road with Tropeano pitching the first game. I hope Springer and Santana can have good games and prove they can hit on the road too.

Both Ross Seaton and Delino DeShields made the Hot Sheet this week, while Adrian Houser made the "In the Team Photo" runner-up section. Banner week for our system, I'd say.

I'm really curious to see what DeShields does after a promotion. The OBP/speed combination looks awesome right now, but the fact that he's repeating a level can't be ignored.

Why do people keep harping on that? He's 19. NINETEEN. Of course he repeated. So is Folty. Most of the people in his league are still older than him and he's tearing it up.

Not necessarily any one person over and over, but more like everyone, as if teenagers repeating a level was some universal portent of developmental doom.

Just got home from the Corpus Christi Hooks game tonight. I don't want to spoil anything before Ashitaka posts his report, but let's just say the Hooks scored a lot of runs and hit a bunch of home runs tonight.
