What were you expecting? 18-0?

Yeah, Texas has a good record at 14-5 but we're not far off from the rest of the top teams in the AL. It's not like we're bombing as bad as the Angels or Red Sox.

I agree, but the panic that some have here is less about that number, and more about how it is being achieved to this point.

If the boys were tearing the cover off the ball, but had some bad outings in the rotation, I don't think the reaction is as extreme as it has been for some. We knew the pitching had holes coming in, and Fister being injured certainly has not helped.

BUT..they aren't tearing the cover off the ball, not even close. So now there is concern (well founded or not) because people want to know what happened to the offense that hosted Boston the first series of the season.

The offense that showed up to the first series of the year???? You mean against the worst pitching in the majors? They must have been eating too much fried chicken and drinking too much

.....is in trouble.

40 % AAA
40 %, ya never know.

Maintaining + 500 will be the challenge. Getting to 20 over will be hard.

If the hitting recovers I can still see us winning 90 games, if not.......over 500 will work. As long as Cleveland and Chicago don't go on a tear.

Depending upon the rest of our division to play poorly, is not my idea of enjoyable entertainment.

My greatest concern is that we've seen the best of Fister that we're ever gonna see.

Could just be that his dominance was the result of his being able to reach for a little more, with his mechanics, and that little 'bit' extra might have been compromised with this injury.

one thing is certain, given his line of work his prognosis cannot be nearly as optimistic as for a desk jockey having the same affliction.

Once Fister starts throwing hard, the opportunity for re-injury worries me

That's priobably because the strength of our system is supposed to be starting pitching.

We pay market price for hitting, but we do have some depth in pitching.

Depth?

How long has Fister been sidelined now?.. and THEY STILL HAVE NOT found a competent fill in for him?

The "depth" is of a highly questionable, even suspect, nature.

I think it has more to do with dollar signs and zeros. Committing big bux to guys who only play every 4 or 5 games scares these people.

No. You just seemed incredibly in lock step with the OP.

God why does everyone think I'm some sort of board na.zi?

I should just learn to shut up, I get myself into this all the time.

well, go back and read some of the exchanges we've had on the other threads. I'd ask you a question and itiger would answer it, or RKLEWIS would answer it, and it didn't prompt me to start calling 'doppleganger'...lol!

Sign CJ Wilson
Trade for Gio Gonzalez

Two things we could have tried to do instead of signing Prince Fielder.

Two things that would have had us, overall, more prepared to win a World Series.

I really wanted Gio Gonzalez. Although I wanted to trade Smyly for him, so we wouldn't have been much further than we are right now.
