" But, as much sense as that makes..."

Just because it makes sense to YOU doesn't mean squat.

This year Trumbo has had 60 PA in the 4 spot. He's hit 4 home runs. That would project to 40 HR in 650 PA.

He's had 127 PA in the 5 spot. He's hit 11 home runs. That projects to 54 HR in 650 PA.

Facts make sense. Not your biased thinking.

Just over the past 3 months or so here are some of your statements about trumbo (not all are about obp though)

-----------------------------------------------------------

If Trumbo is healthy, he is probably more like the 7th best hitter on the team

-----------------------------------------------------------

If he has a stat that says Trumbo is better than Callaspo, it's a bad stat.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Trumbo was not a good hitter last year. Trumbo has not looked good defensively in the spring. His OBP shows no signs of improving.

---------------------------------------------------------------
The last three healthy years Callaspo has played he's done this:

305/361/371
300/356/457
288/366/375

Last year Trumbo did this.
254/291/477

Second Half he did this
247/275/469.

His k to bb rate went from
65/16 to 55/9.

Why are you so sure he's going to improve? (this implies you think he won't improve)

--------------------------------------------------------------

So this is what I have found after 3 minutes of searching I am sure I can find many more instances of trumbo hating and talking about how callaspo is superior to him. If you had your wish and trumbo was traded (which you called for numerous times) this team would not be where it is now even with Trout!

Last year Callaspo was a better hitter.

I turned out to be wrong. He was the seventh best hitter last year and we added Trout, Pujols, and Morales. Mathis was worse, he was gone. I was hopeful Trout would push Wells to 4th outfielder. I calculated wrong.

Trumbo wasn't a good hitter last year. And his spring OBP did show no signs of improving.

Why are you so sure he's going to improve? (this implies you think he won't improve)

No it doesn't!!!!!! I have thousands of post... you have to come up with quotes where you read between the lines?

WHERE.... OH WHERE.... Did I say Trumbo CAN'T Improve.... It's a flat out lie...

Why can't you tell the truth. These are the best quotes you got and many refer to his 2011.

So this is what I have found after 3 minutes of searching

Then find some good stuff and stop this drivel. And post to the thread so I can read it in context.

This attempt was/is disgusting.

Where you err is in calling it "hating." He was simply basing his opinion on what he projected from the stats he was looking at.

Mark made vast improvements at the plate. AG doubted he could. That's not hating on him.

amazing that some mlb club hasn't snatched you up as a coach yet. So insightful.

It's possible that he's so good right now that he's eventually going to start getting fewer pitches to hit. That will probably lead to more walks.

I don't know, it's just a guess.

I don't know if doubted is the right word, I don't know if it's the wrong word either.

I liked his odds better than Wells, but I didn't like his odds. If the season started today and Trout cracked the lineup, I would have bet money that:
Kendrick,
Morales,
Bourjos,
Puljos,
Trout
Hunter
along with Calaspo or Ianettea, or Aybar, that Trumbo would rank around 7th.

It wasn't a crazy comment, it was just dead wrong.

I'm trying to apply logic. It doesn't mean I'm right.

"My prediction is:

27/71/.239"

Assuming 560 AB's, he'd need to hit .182 the rest of the way. That's worse than Hamilton in June.

I didn't mean to imply that either of us know what the future holds for sure.

That's the funny thing about making predictions... :)

But maybe that's a big reason Trumbo is doing so well.
He looks for mistakes, in his power zones
