I definitely hope they succeed, it will be a major disappointment considering the time, the effort and all the money spent for that project.

Thanks for that. It would definitely be a tense and exciting time for NASA scientists. I would love to be there to experience it.

Cool new article but it won't let me post it on my phone for some reason.

Go to i09.com. It's the article about the arc of light in very deep space that "has no business being there".

".do you think they will succeed?"

I'd say 50/50... I imagine using the jump rockets/sky crane on earth to say.. land a jeep from orbit would be incredibly difficult as is, let alone on a communication delay on an alien planet.

Have you ever looked up at a clear day time sky and wished it was night time so you could see the stars, planets, etc?

This article is really cool if proven to be true. Let's see if an announcment is made in the next few days.

Believe me, I hope for that everytime the skies are clear and also that there is a new moon. But when that happens, I then wish I was in the middle of no where. Like the ocean, the Great Plains, or a desert or anywhere that is flat with no light pollution. Then I could have an amazing night sky experience.

Yeah, I live in the mountains and even my hometown is quite small, there's still enough light pollution to make a difference.

Are you able to drive a little out of town to a dark field or something? I live in a smallish town of about 60k people but ten minutes out of town it is very dark.

Well I can't drive yet despite having my driver's license because I'm not insured yet. My parents are not letting me drive until I get one and they won't get me insured until my next school semester starts which I find very annoying. I'm right now job hunting and when I finally do land a job to help pay for college, I'm asking my parents again to see if they can help me get my car insurance.

There's only a few small dark open fields in my area. Your town actually is a lot more populated than mine is. I live in a borough of just over 6k people. The largest city in my county which is about ten miles south of me has just over 42k. But the thing is, it's also very mountainous. And there's still light pollution involved in my area because there are many small communities scattered everywhere around here.
