The question is not if Tejada can be an everyday SS..The question is if the team overcome the loss of Reyes with Tejada at short as is currently put together. Baseball has been a game that was built around SS like Tejada..But in this modern era of baseball the game has changed and SS has become a position of offense. That is in large part due to steroids. The Mets for years have been a team that relied on a great deal offensive production from SS and where built as such.. If you have offense from your SS position it allows for less offense at another position that may typically be expected to provide more offense. And if you have less offensive production coming from SS you need to get it elsewhere and the team needs to be built with that in mind.
With Duda the only if is if he can be a legit power hitter..Kirk is a true CF. The if is if he can establish himself at the ML level.
