Alan Ashby on the FAN this morning pointed out that the team so far ranks 25th in batting average and slugging. Small sample size? Yes. What we wanted out of the gate? Not on your life...

Exactly what I am frustrated about. 12 regular-inning runs (i.e. not including those scored in extras) in four games is not going to cut it. The offense has looked bad thus far, and if we're going to win games the offense is going to need to fill in some of our gaps in pitching (pitchers have looked good so far, but I do expect bumps in the road). Really, the Jays should have already scored enough runs last night to make up for Santos and JPA's mistakes in the 9th.

It's because there's a bunch of leaf fans on here this year.

This team isn't hitting well to start the year they have 158 more games to go, and they will hit and Santos will get better.

I do wonder how Snider would have done, would he have added some extra pop to this lineup that they we so desperately needed. We will never know .

Like I said before 158 games turn this around is alot of time.

I'm really impressed with Alvarez. I like his confidence and how he doesn't get upset when things don't go his way. Like last night after Pedroia's homer, he came right back and got the next batters out. He pitched so well last night - he should have had the win with just a little more help from the offence.

Alvarez had enough help... Santos was responsible for the blowup...he needs to KEEP THE BALL DOWN. Outside of last night, his first two outings were OK. Still, he needs to improve his control and slow down.

The umpires are being a problem too.. we seem to be getting squeezed a lot in the first few games.

Jesus...It's been four games, chill out. The Jays are a very good hitting team, and the numbers will bear that out over the course of the season.
