According to Rod, once Fister gets back all will be better.
Apparently he will be pitching and playing LF, 2B and batting in positions 1,2,5,6,7,8, and 9.
As it seems to be Mr. I wanted Prince, he eventually overpaid for him (in years & money) and he made his bed.
At that point, DD knew he couldn't have three 20 million dollar players + the Cuban. It was at that point we we out of the sweepstakes for him. I am pretty sure that given the choice, DD would have chosen him over Fielder. (proven by the hype he presented)
Then the V-Mart injury turned up the heat on getting a proven commodity, rather than the Cuban. (a week earlier than reported by the Tigers)
All that stuff happened within a week of each other.
Meanwhile, J Werth is hitting .330, doing his stellar D in the corner, and providing leadership to a young team in Washington. Possibly leading them to a W. Series. All for six-mil less than Fielder is getting paid.
Prince looks good I guess, I'd rather not have had him. But Mr. I wanted him since he was 11 years old. Hopefully he can help bring him a trophy. I don't know. (and have my doubts, for there will be no additions now)
and for those keeping score at home, an update: Through 5 + tonight: Mariners 30 hits and 15 runs (and counting), Tigers 12 hits and 5 runs.
Getting absolutely pounded by a mediocre team at best.
so anyway, im about to watch CONTRABAND featuring mark wahlboig and some chicks probably..
Jim & Dan said on the radio....
Fister back to pitching competitively about three weeks to a month from now, then....... "what Dan.....one, two rehab starts ???" (threw off a mound today, oh boy)
Fister will not likely be back before nearly June 1. Any setback now has him out to the All-Star break, at least.
Oh man. Thanks for the reminder. I actually had forgotten that.
We look slower, weaker, older than the Mariners.
When is Lugubrious Lloyd going to start getting everyone on the same page to hit line drives? This looks like Raid Stadium - a place for flyouts.
