I admire your optimism and the votes of confidence. Problem is, our rotation is going to be exposed as soon as they face good hitters. I like the young talent doing as well as they are, but it will be different when they get understood..

take it easy over there. Yeah i mean i think the twins are just on a bit of a hot streak, every team gets them. If its still going when i get home from new york aug 1 i'll start buying in.

"Still hanging out in Afghanistan"

Glad to see you posting, cuz that means you be OK! Like how you make light of your situation. Just how much longer do you have over there?

Sorry for the condition of the Rockies, but if their floundering is what it takes for you to be back on our board...so be it! As far as the Twins go, we just take the games one at a time. Can't help but just be happy with some individuals performance this year. Unless we snag some starting pitching, and there will be some for sure. I just don't know if Terry will pull the trigger, even though he has the money available. He could pull a "Brewer"(last year they grabbed up) and surprise us all.

I think you're right. The Twins are 8-2 in their past 10 games and only 8.5 games out of first place. There's still a month before the All-Star break to make up more ground and obviously the competition for first isn't too tough.

Unfortunately it's unlikely that Diamond keeps pitching the way he has, especially as teams get another look at him. Walters is already starting to flounder.

On the other hand, Liam Hendrik's has been pitching great in AAA after some adjustments. In his last two starts he has 15.2 IP, 7 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 18 K. Liriano, who is pitching today, has also been great in his last two starts - 12 IP, 7 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 17 K.

Mauer and Morneau appear healthy enough for now, and if that keeps up, and the Twins pitching is able to stabilize, bikeboffitt might just be right. It's a long shot, but it's not as impossible as it seemed just weeks ago. The Twins, as we all know, have a knack for closing strong.

The Phillies are in town next... a possible win when Diamond pitches against Blanton but I am not expecting any wins no matter how much the Phillies are struggling. The rest of this month they have 3 games series against the Pirates, Reds and White Sox...the Twins will be lucky if they can win three games there...then the Rangers for 3 games before the AS break....don't count on any wins there either.

Lastly, August and September are going to be brutal months for the Twins...

Well, we'll see won't we . . .

I think we're playing a lot different, regardless of the competition. We can win more than 3 games in 9 played against the Pirates, Reds, and White Sox.

I cannot fathom this team playing .500 from this moment on to the end of the season. Even if they did they would still manage only 75 wins or so. As the season goes on things do not bode well for this team because there is no depth whatsoever. Let Willingham get injured and then let's see what we got. What's going to happen when Walters and Diamond make it through the league once more? Does anyone think they are going to carry on like this? In the long run, our offense isn't good enough to support them.

I don't know what a chance means with this club. I don't even see them as getting to .500
