IMO the Angels starting pitching staff as a whole has a much better chance of pitching deeper into games than the Rangers starting pitching staff. While the Rangers have a better bullpen it's going to be taxed in the next two weeks considering the teams they are scheduled to play..
In the next two weeks the Angels are set to play @ Oak (extreme pitcher friendly), home against Sea, Cleve and TB (weak offensive teams)..The odds are great the Angels will be playing a lot of low scoring games with starters pitching deep into games the next two weeks..
I'm not talking about how many W's and L's I think the Rangers are going to have in the next few weeks. Who knows? The Rangers offense might break out.. All I was trying to point out is that the Rangers are likely going to play in a lot of high scoring games in the next two weeks. It's tough over the long haul when you have to constantly use your bullpen..
Yu Darvish pitched once a week in Japan in controlled climates.. He's wearing down..
D. Holland has been on the DL this season with shoulder issues. He's isn't the same pitcher this year..
Ryan Dempster is going to face AL lineups now and pitch in the extreme heat in Texas..
Matt Harrison has been struggling lately..
Ron Washington was forced to use 37 year old Joe Nathan in back to back games vs the Angels last week. The last game the Rangers had a 7 run lead and he had thrown 32 pitches the night before.
Converted starting pitcher Robbie Ross we used in 3 games vs the Angels last week. He worked 1 2/3 in one game..
Roy Oswalt refused to pitch another inning yesterday.. IMO the Rangers are going to have a lot of dead arms at the end of the season
