I also blame the offense who seem to go into slumber mode when we get a one or two run lead.

Really they tend to go into slumber mode with any lead most nights. It's like it's break time for the O, let the bullpen settle it.

What are the chances Weaver, Greinke and Wilson going the distance in this series? It's a lot to expect I know.

It would be nice not to use the pen and let those guys sit and watch for awhile.

That would be fantastic! Been a while since we've had one go 9.

They are a weak hitting team that's gotten hot, mostly with timely hits. Time to cool them off. Weave's a good one to start it off.

One game at a time. Each player accountable and just do their respective jobs. Weaver is the best option to get that started.

No team can keep up the pace they were on. Especially a weak hitting team. They had a nice run. Now it ends.

It could happen especially tonight with Weaver going. Hope so.
That would set the tone for the next two games.

It would only be fitting... last week our pitching woke up the sleeping giant Rangers. Now we need to settle down the mouse that's roaring A's.

Temp. 68 degrees, low tonight 56. That ought to make the team feel revived.

I can't imagine how many pitches the Rangers staff is going to throw in the next few weeks

3 games in hitter friendly Fenway Park.. Followed by 3 games in the heat in Arlington against the Tigers. Followed by 4 games in Yankee Stadium and 3 games in Toronto.. The Rangers pitching staff is going to give up a lot of runs the next two weeks. As a result, more runs = more pitches. The Rangers bullpen might be running on fumes by the end of that road trip

Isn't their pitching equal or better than ours?? What is the rationale for such a statement, the Rangers generally play up or down to their competition..

Think about it...if a runner was on first, that would've been another DP for Howie!!

IMO the Angels starting pitching staff as a whole has a much better chance of pitching deeper into games than the Rangers starting pitching staff. While the Rangers have a better bullpen it's going to be taxed in the next two weeks considering the teams they are scheduled to play..

In the next two weeks the Angels are set to play @ Oak (extreme pitcher friendly), home against Sea, Cleve and TB (weak offensive teams)..The odds are great the Angels will be playing a lot of low scoring games with starters pitching deep into games the next two weeks..

I'm not talking about how many W's and L's I think the Rangers are going to have in the next few weeks. Who knows? The Rangers offense might break out.. All I was trying to point out is that the Rangers are likely going to play in a lot of high scoring games in the next two weeks. It's tough over the long haul when you have to constantly use your bullpen..

Yu Darvish pitched once a week in Japan in controlled climates.. He's wearing down..

D. Holland has been on the DL this season with shoulder issues. He's isn't the same pitcher this year..

Ryan Dempster is going to face AL lineups now and pitch in the extreme heat in Texas..

Matt Harrison has been struggling lately..

Ron Washington was forced to use 37 year old Joe Nathan in back to back games vs the Angels last week. The last game the Rangers had a 7 run lead and he had thrown 32 pitches the night before.

Converted starting pitcher Robbie Ross we used in 3 games vs the Angels last week. He worked 1 2/3 in one game..

Roy Oswalt refused to pitch another inning yesterday.. IMO the Rangers are going to have a lot of dead arms at the end of the season
