I don't believe Nava has options. Lillibridge is an interesting point, He can play all the infield positions but would be only a phone call away. Who goes for Bailey? my preference is Atchinson especially with Cook or Morales slotting as long men. Who are your 5 starters? after Buchholz returns you now have seven. I think Cook moves to the pen but Morales has pitched great.

I may be wrong about Nava, since they dropped him from the 40 man roster last year, but I believe he and Kalish did. As for the starters, If Cook and Morales keep this up, it might be hard to eliminate Beckett, Lester, Buchholz or Doubront. But how many lefty's is too much. Not a bad problem to have.

Frankly, I would not be surprised if they didn't shop Beckett in July. Could clear some payroll!

I think I might move Doubront to the pen and keep Cook in the rotation. But we have to see how Beckett does coming back before we move forward.

Not surprised to see McDonald DFAd.

Nava does have options, but the way he is going they will get around it via trading. I can't see him going down.

I can see Sweeney getting traded. He's versatile but has no pop, and once Crawford is back, no room for him unless Nava goes down again.

Yes, thats just what I am getting at. Anyone who has OBS of .420 plus is not going down even with options. Sweeney could very well go in a trade, Nava could go but I don't see him going down and everyday we get one day closer to getting some of these guys back and also closer to the trade deadline so that helps.

If you can figure a way to get out of the contract please dial the Sox front office NOW. That is a killer and nobody will even look at helping the Sox get out of that dumb thing.

Lillibridge can play all 4 infield positions as well as all of the OF positions. That's why he's still there instead of McDonald.

I knew about Kahlish and I am glad about Nava. I think Nava is quickly developing into a very good player. He is so much better than two years ago it is ridiculous. He never seems over matched. If his body had matured at a younger age he would be a much heralded prospect. With Nava hid body simply matured at a much older age. The Sox need to keep Nava.

Love the OBP ... love the pitch count .... love the Fenway LF ... How can anyone really even consider playing Crawford in front of Nava?

The reason is money. They are not going to pay him that amount of coin to sit the bench and NOBODY is going to take that contract.

I feel bad for D-Mac even though I know I've always said he's not that good. Nonetheless he was a good loyal team-mate and it's always sad when a guy loses his job. I hope he clears waivers and goes to Pawtucket and comes back one day. Guy was a class act. Thanks Darnell.

Some team will pick him up, he has speed, some pop and plays all 3 OF positions.
